This is a first-person memoir of Army Private Bob Jones's experiences during World War II. He was drafted in 1944 and landed in Le Harve, France in January 1945. This memoir recounts his experiences from then throught the end of the war as part of the 7th Armored Infantry Batallion, 8th Armored Division (The Thundering Herd).

This book was written to tell his family about his Army service in WWII, something he spoke very little about until later in life. This is a good book for a young person who is trying to understand the realities of fighting in a war.
