Reviewed by Melissa Tanaka for Readers' Favorite Five Moons: Zep Tepi by Bill Parker is the sixth book in Bill Parker’s Five Moons series and takes place in a futuristic world where humans and androids work alongside one another and space travel has become the new norm. When a medical emergency arises on the planet Soloreon-3 and the health of the colonists endangers that of the indigenous people, the Union Fleet must quickly reach the distant planet before the disease can spread amongst the unvaccinated indigenous people and wipe them out completely. The Union Fleet reaches out to the Five Moons Fleet, which has both access to and experience with time-space rings. These can form wormholes over great distances and essentially eliminate extensive travel time. While over 13,000 of the indigenous people are saved, the Fleet’s visit creates more questions than answers surrounding the mysteries of Soloreon-3. Five Moons: Zep Tepi is a must-read for science fictions lovers and a wonderful addition to the Five Moon series. One thing in particular that I loved was how Parker brought together the ancient Egyptian creation myth of Zep Tepi and the technological future that awaits us. Parker is excellent at world building and has created a whole other universe that readers can easily fall into and become a part of as they read the Five Moons series. Although some elements of the novel, such as various devices and technology, or even the variety of characters, can be difficult to keep track of due to the influx of information, Parker’s rich descriptions allow for an easier transition from our world into his. Such a wonderful book!
