Zoie Norton has thrown all caution to the wind and given in to her maternal call. Her clock has ticked its last warning.
Zoie has decided that she is going to take matters into her own hands as a 35th birthday present to herself. Artificial insemination is the only way. She begins treatment and gets pregnant. Just before the end of her second trimester, tragedy strikes. She retreats from the world and her family.
Victor Cole is the principal at Zoie's niece's school. He has met all of the Norton sisters except the one he wants to meet, Zoie. He has wanted to have a moment to get to know the woman that is adored by all of her younger siblings. The timing is right and things are set but she calls things to a halt, suddenly. The sisters mention a cabin when Zoie disappears and refuses to take anyone's call. Victor feels it may be time for him to pay a visit to the old family property.
Will Victor's plan work to finally get him a chance to know the most protected sister of the family? Or will Zoie's loss be more than even she can bear and cause her to have an even greater loss, the chance at love and a possible happy future?
The Norton Sisters Series is a series about six sisters that share the same last name but are six entirely different women. The sisters by age ranking: Zoie, Wynter, Rayna, Nyema, Lynnia and Chyra are there for each other, always. They follow their own little "Norton Code": "In the end, family means everything and your sisters hold you up no matter what may come."

* I received this ebook in exchange for an honest review. * This is book 2 in a 7 book series. It can be read as a stand alone, but all of the characters are intertwined in all of the books. I have read book 1, so that made book 2 a little easier for me to understand all of the character nicknames and quirks that the author uses in this book. I really wish the author would make an appendix of the characters real names and nicknames as it does get a bit confusing while reading and trying to keep them all straight. This is the story of Zoie who is actually the oldest sister (but the second book). She has hopes, dreams and ideas and is ready to make them happen no matter what. She has 5 younger siblings who don't always agree with "mama Zoie" but they do support each other. Enter Victor, the hot to trot principal that all the mom's want to date and Zoie's whole world is flipped around....then the unspeakable happens and no one is sure if Zoie can survive it.... The plot is unique and the author does a great job with making the reader feel like they are a part of the story, however, as I mentioned before the nicknames combined with the spelling/grammer errors made this book a 4 star read for me. I feel like there needed to be a bit more attention to detail and for the reader to reflect less on the minor parts of the story (meaning subplots) and give the reader a clean, clear read about the focus character. Overall this was a good book and I will be giving book 3 a read.
Being the oldest Norton sister hasn’t always been easy. Zoie loves her 5 sisters dearly and wouldn’t trade them for the world. They are always there for one another no matter what. SO when Zoie decides that it is time to have a baby even if it means doing it on her own and her sisters don’t seem to be all that supportive of her decision it is huge blow. Victor is an unexpected surprise in her life. Ruggedly handsome, intelligent and witty he comes into her life at a time that she feels is just a little too late. Both Victor and Zoie know what it is like to have meddlesome sisters. In Victor’s case they are always scaring his girlfriend’s off and in Zoie’s they want her to find someone and settle down and be happy. Tragedy strikes Zoie and really spins her world on its axis. Victor is bound and determined to have Zoie in his life no matter what. With that in mind he sticks by Zoie’s side during her time of need. Victor becomes Zoie’s constant the one person who can keep her rooted in reality and helps ease some of the suffocating pain she is feeling. Zoie wants to be able to move on with her life and find happiness again but just can’t seem to see the light at the end of the ever darkening tunnel that her life has become. This is a wonderful, heartfelt story filled with love, tragedy, laughter and healing.
