We don't want no zombies nobody sent! Only in Chicago would the zombie apocalypse be just another excuse for political corruption and chicaniery. Mr. Kenemore has captured the character of Chicago in a most uncanny way. Both zombie fans and native Chicagoans will laugh out loud, as thinly vailed true life local characters alternate between perpetrating skulduggery and becoming zombie lunches. Scarry and funny, this book packs more of a punch then more serious social criticisms. It's fiction of course. The zombie apocalypse could never occur in Chicago as the zombies wouldn't be safe there.

Those of us in the Chicago-land area will recognize the good and bad aspects of our beloved city in this book. I'm not a major fan of the zombie genre, but this book wasn't only guts and gore. The political intrigue with the added flavor of corruption and greed that can only come from Chicago, was the icing on the cake.

Not going to lie, it could have been better... But it was okay. Overall the writing was decent and the changing first person story line perspective sort of helped to keep it more interesting and well paced.  However, the characters were a little too tied together in this story. The amazing and uneventful coincidences (which were abundant) didn't really help with the entertainment value. I would have probably enjoyed better zombie explanations and more suspenseful  encounters (with the living and undead). And even though there was action and close calls, somehow it always seemed like everything  was going to be a-okay in the end.  As far as zombie novels go, this one is pretty decent though. If you are into a quick, moderately entertaining read, then I wouldn't  totally disregard this one.

Crap story about contrived drama that is beyond believable. A few zombies sprinkled in to sell it as a hot topic. Buyer beware.
