Mac Stryker is a cop with something to prove. Five years ago, he’d been forced to resign the police department in disgrace when he was too drunk to take action during a shooting. Now, Mac is sober, back on the force and back working with Jade Donovan, the rookie who’d saved his life. Worse, he finds himself attracted to Jade and her precocious son, Donnie. But Mac is through with love. The violent death of his wife and daughter turned him into an alcoholic, and he won’t put his job or his heart at risk again. He will protect and defend them both at all costs.

But when the deadline looms on Jade’s dozen deadly roses stalker, will the two partners manage to put aside their differences in order to save their son?

Kathy Bennett, a retired twenty-nine year veteran of the Los Angeles Police Department, has penned a gritty and authentic story of crime and romantic suspense in her novel, A Dozen Deadly Roses.     Good Read

    I really enjoyed this story. I loved the characters, and the suspense kept me turning the pages for more. I'm sad that this is the author's first book, I wanted to download and read more from her. I'm anxiously awaiting her next book to read.

    Also, I read a review earlier that stated the front page had typos, but my copy was perfectly fine and I didn't see any typos or have any issues with my copy. I would suggest trying it again because you don't want to miss out on this book. :)

    Started out good - but did not hold interest towards the end

    Characters not developed - Too easy to follow who dun it - even when clues pointing in other directions are thrown in. Required sex scene boring & not needed - since the book didn't have my interest anyway. - skimmed through it.

    Meh....

    Very dry, repetitive writing. I found the main female character very annoying in her constant quest to be "as tough as male policemen". No mother in her right mind would react the way she does to her circumstances. The main male character is also incredibly annoying. Wanted to smack them both. The author shows promise though. Maybe she can put some more meat in her future stories. Needs better characters.

    I couldn't put it down. An excellent read. I love James Patterson and I would rate Kathy Bennett right up there with him. Can't wait for her next book.

    I'd compare Bennett with Nora Roberts or Sandra Brown for romantic mystery category.

    Gets a little tedious

    OK, the title tells you there are a dozen roses in play. Honestly, by the time the 10th or 11th rose comes into play I was tired of the premise. It's an OK mystery and a very quick read.

    Highly recommended - a great read.

    This has all the ingredients of a really captivating mystery/romance and I find it very hard to put it down. I can't wait to read Ms. Bennett's next book.

    Okay

    It is pretty suspenseful but the main characters don't seem to be all that intelligent. Also, Jade's relationship with her son was not very realistic. It was an okay read for the price, but I would not have paid more for it.

    Dragged down by an unneeded romantic plot

    As a thriller, this almost worked. However it seemed as if the author could not decide if the book should be a thriller, or a Harlequin romance. As a result, the story line is muddled, an it resulted in a frustrating read.

    Great book

    I would recommend this book if you like suspense type books. There could have been a little more killing in it but over all for .99 I thought it was well worth it!

    GREAT READ !!!

    Make sure you have a few hours free when you start to read

    Time flew while reading this book . Well developed and page turnning suspence . I completed it in 2 days . A Fast read can't wait for her next one.
