Book 1 of The Watchers Trilogy
Paranormal Romance

Alone in snowy, remote Whistler village, Ana tries to build a new life since losing her parents. With a cozy condo, a sweet-faced bulldog and an evening job to leave the days free for the slopes, life slips into a great routine. If only she could shake the guilt for not remembering anything about her parents and banish the night terrors that haunt her every dream.

On a whim, Ana goes out with Athen, a guy shes just met in the Grizzly Pub... The only problem is that she feels like she already knows him.

Within 48 hours of meeting Athen and his family, Anas world implodes. She falls for Athen quickly and before she knows it, a past life begins to resurface. As thrilling as the revelations appear at first, she fights against the chilling information that Athen is from the underworld. Soon she begins to struggle as her own supernatural gifts are slowly unveiled, and she realizes that the nightmares shes been having might be premonitions and not dreams at all.
It is up to Ana to decipher between fact and fiction before it is too late, and her new love, Athen, follows in her same fate - one that is lost between two worlds.

The plot in Awakening is very intricate. There is an elaborate backstory and complex Nephilim lore. I found the take on angels really well thought out. Giselle at Xpressoreads.com

It was so different from the standard in YA right now that I am shocked to put it lightly. I really didnt even see the ending coming and that cliffhanger, OH MY GOD! www.moonlightbookreviews.com

I enjoy anything paranormal and a story about angels and demons is perfect. The suspense that is given through Anas dreams really kept me thrown off at wondering what is real and what was simply just a dream. Heather at NightlyReading.wordpress.com

Ana's emotions all make sense and feel very organic to her as a character, and early on in the book it was very easy to identify with her. Kate at UFReviews.com (Urban Fantasy Reviews)

Totally fell in love with this book!!! I am a huge Paranormal Romance/Urban Fantasy fan and this was a perfect combo of the two. It starts off with just enough romance and intrigue to make me fall for these characters right away, but then I enjoyed how the elements of mystery began to unfold as the book went along. I don't think I could ever get enough Athen! I am attached!! It set me up for wanting more. Awesome start to this trilogy and am definitely getting the second one. She knows how to make you come back for seconds...

This was by far the best book I've read in quite some time! Definitely a series to continue reading!

I was introduced to this trilogy by a friend and am so glad I listened to her! The imagery and descriptives used in this author's writing are so beautiful that I immediately get thrown in this world she has created. The story is still centered in reality, which I am drawn to. The love story is very tender and makes more and more sense as the story unfolds. There was a brief spot where it slowed down (mainly because the scenes were written in detail) but then there would be intrigue thrown in there again. The romance and memory loss that is slowly unfolded is an amazing take on angels. I have only read a handful of Fallen Angel Stories (tend to gravitate towards vampires and witches), but this one went to the top for me because of the connection I felt with Ana and Athen's love story and the ending... Wow...

This book was heavily into the paranormal romance side of the Urban Fantasy, which was wonderful. I got lost in the idea of the love between the two main characters and it set it up nicely for book two. Not to give anything away, but I have a feeling that that things are really going to build up. I felt as if this book was to hook you into with the characters and the love between them, while gearing up for something big in the next two installments... or at least that is my hope. Also, loved the background and take on the Fallen Angel concept that the author ran with. Great way to spend an afternoon reading. Would highly recommend it for anyone who loves to think about love and romance and everything good that comes with it, with a surprise twist.

Awakening was a great introduction to the trilogy. Ana and Athen's romance is off the charts. It brings loving someone forever to a whole new level. Arie and Cyril's free spirit give some balance to the book and Matilda is great. The ending left me wanting more. I liked the concept of memory loss and and fallen angels/demons good and bad that were brought into the story. I don't know if I could ever get enough of Athen.

Enjoyed this novel and read it really quickly. I would recommend it to someone since it is interesting. Just be warned that it seems a little bit like teen fiction at some parts.

My daughter read and loved Awakening. I thought I'd give it a try since the concept sounded interesting. I now can't wait until she is finished with Legions so that I can read it. I'm definitely hooked on the love story and Ana's character. She learns so much that is so unreal and handles herself incredibly. The love story between Ana and Athen (and Arie and Cyril really) is beyond otherworldly. I honestly can't get enough of the romance. Hoping my daughter finishes it soon or I might just buy it myself.

Awakening is a great opening book for The Watchers Trilogy by Karice Bolton. I think this book has great mass appeal for both the young and the young at heart. The book was very descriptive, which helped you get your imagination going at top speed. I can tell that this books job was to really help readers build a relationship with the characters and their relationships with each other. I enjoyed reading about the electricity of love between Athen and Ana, along with the quirkiness of Arie and Cyril to lighten up some of the content in the book. I’m not going to get into every detail of this book because you need to read it to understand and love the story! I am a person who doesn’t get a lot of time to read, but when I find a book that keeps me reading, I have to spread the word. . Overall I felt it was a great read and I just picked up Legion and can’t wait to see what happens!

Paranormal Romance done right! I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the series. Ana is someone that many, self included, can relate to and her complete awe over Athen is really cute. I totally get it. Athen is loyal, loving, and hot and hers before she even knew it. The unfolding of the events surrounding Ana's infatuation is so clever and an intriguing take on love at first sight.

Awakening is the best kind of romance. It left me wanting more. Athen is a dream boyfriend and then to find out he's far more than a boyfriend, but that their love has been for all time. I couldn't get enough. It was beautifully written and the descriptions made the book come alive.

Awakening was an incredibly uplifting book. It was filled with love and romance that I ate up on every page. Ana's character grows substantially as she begins to realize her role in the immortal world and I can't wait for legions to see how she continues. The ending was incredible! This book left me feeling really good about love and life. It's a happy and innocent read.

This was a fun and quick read. It left me wanting to explore much more of the romance and adventures between Ana and Athen. The author has a wonderful ability to describe settings to a perfection and provides great characters to fall for. Looking forward to the second book in the trilogy.

This book is great. I'm not that far in, but I can see that the plot's very well thought out, pretty orriginal, and definitelt interesting. I will say though that the writing could have had better editing. It's grammatically sound, but it reads like simeone in high school wrote it.

Awakening follows Ana who can't really connect with her current life. She feels displaced and out of sorts compared to the people around her. All that changes when a new family rolls into town. Ana learns there is a reason that she hasn't quite felt 'normal'. The growing process was fascinating to me as Ana learned who she was and what was expected of her. At the same time the romance was being rebuilt between Ana and Athen. That was my favorite part of the story. I think the author does a fantastic job relaying the emotions of the characters, building a beautiful world, and creating characters that many can relate to. Falling in love is an exciting time and that was captured. I don't generally write reviews but was really impressed with this start to the trilogy and plan on reading the next ones this week.

Can't wait to read Legions. What an amazing emotional ride. Awakening was an incredible paranormal romance that I couldn't read fast enough. I'm hooked. Athen's character is so charming and hot. I'm so glad I found this author.

What an awesome book! Awakening is set in a ski resort and I swear the snowflakes were almost coming off the page. The author did a great job of using imagery and building the story. The love and romance took most of the book, which was fine by me. I've started Legions and it seems like the action is already starting to build. I'm hoping the romance comes back into play a little more and judging by the last book in the trilogy I think it will. This is a great YA paranormal romance trilogy that even adults can enjoy.

Loved it! Loved it! What an amazing story and it was beautifully written. The first part of the book introduced the players and in last part the activity started picking up. It didn't end stop on the last page. I read it one sitting and can't wait to start Legions. Highly recommend for paranormal romance lovers. Saw a few of the low ratings and I doubt they actually read the story.
