An iconic collaboration whose whole is greater than the sum of its parts, GBG combines a compelling and complex story with stark and period-sensitive art  that places the Batman in late 19th century Gotham City to solve a series of crimes and bring to justice one of the period's most feared villains.  Using the same detective's skills which we can now appreciate as timeless, and armed with pre-20th century devices and equipment, the Dark Knight  fights a battle that takes the reader into the streets and alleys of a place and time that few can scarcely remember, much less  visit.  This story  is the vintage thriller  we have all wished for and can now finally enjoy.
