Meet the Author

Ex Ghost Tour Guide turned smutty author. JoAnne grew up in a small sea-side town on the coast of North Wales and lived in a house that backs onto a graveyard. Perhaps that is why she is fascinated with all things dark and macabre. Having worked as a Ghost Tour Guide with Britain's most renowned exorcist, and published various articles on paranormal subjects, it's no surprise to her or her family that she now writes fictional tales about ghosts, zombies and vampires; basically anything that goes bump in the dark.

She now lives in North Carolina with her husband, two kids, and two puddy cats.     I received a copy of this book from the author for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.

    While part of an ongoing series, this short story delves into a long-standing relationship between a Vampire queen and her smart mouthed zombie minion. Beautifully written, the Zombie is in need of a quick story to pass the time, and calm the queen before she meets with her next ‘victim’. What happens is a sweet and sexy tale of love reunited, with a twist. This is truly a short story of only about 5000 words or 22 or so pages, so it’s completed quickly, perhaps too quickly.

    The author has a keen sense of timing, the story within the story is honed to a fine edge with an unexpected ending, that doesn’t quite hit that happily ever after bar. Since this was my first encounter with the author or this series, I haven’t an idea if the others in this series function similarly, but I will be certain to check them out.
