This was the author's first foray onto the high seas, written with visions of Errol Flynn swinging out of the rigging, sword in hand, dagger between the teeth. Canham has been dubbed the "Queen of Swashbuckling Romance" by Romantic Times

This book was absolutely breathtaking. The romance and adventure drew me into the book instantly and I was always very reluctant to put it down. I was willing to lose much needed sleep just to continue reading it into the night. This book is well written, has a great story line, and a perfect mix of multiple genre's along with characters you begin to care about or thoroughly loath. In short, this book is amazing, the author is amazing, and everyone should definitely read it! I'm going to purchase 'The Wind and the Sea' next!

I recommend this book. It is fast-paced and kept my interest throughout. It was a quick read even at 936 pages. A great read. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

This isn't your fluffy romance. I am in complete aggreement with all the good things written by others. I learned much about that time in history. I just couldn't tell in advance how things were going to turn out in the end. I have added this author to my list of favorites and purchased two more of her novels after finishing this one.

This was my first time reading a book by this author and i loved it. The beginning of the story on snake island was in depth and got my interest at once and never lost it. The story was romatic and very well developed. I loved the ending but would have liked more info about their future. The book was over 1200 pages but very well written.

I just re-read this book. I truly believe it was even better the second time. Great development of the story, characters, and interaction between the Summer and Morgan. Just wish it did not have to come to an end.

Strange thing. This morning I turned on my Nook to continue reading BOUND BY THE HEART. Today. Independence Day. 4th of July here in the USA. Did you know this holiday didn't really take off until the War of 1812? And what section do I read? The unfurling of the Stars and Stripes on Morgan Wade's ship, the Chimera. The War of 1812 had begun. It truly brought shivers down my back. This is a great read. Of course, it's Marsha Canham!
