Overview

Leon Arnaud is a French werewolf on a mission in America. Unlike most of his kind, he cannot sit idly back and watch humans commit one of the vilest atrocities he’s ever seen: slavery. With wealth and connections at his disposal, he arrives in Louisiana with one purpose and one purpose only: to free as many slaves as possible. His mission is upended when he finds not only slaves on his newly acquired plantation, but one of his own kind, a female werewolf.

A slave, Penny has never met a white man who does not think her beneath him. Her new master is an anomaly. Not only does he does he treat her as an equal, but he’s like her: able to change forms, taking that of a wolf whenever he chooses. From Leon, Penny learns that what she’s previously dismissed as a curse is her true nature. As he teaches her how to control her bodies—wolf and human both—and use her powers, the attraction between them grows, quickly becoming undeniable.

Can their love survive on a plantation in the slave-holding South?

Colorblind is a tale of love in adversity, of two souls defying the odds to be together.

    Awesome

This author really knows how to tell a story. From the plot, the imagery and character development, everything is on point. The love that Penny and Leon have for each other is so strong you could feel it leap from the pages. Ms. Violette knows how to weave secondary characters into the story so that the readers care about them just as much as the main characters. With that said...Please don't make us wait too long for Armand's story. He is all kinds of brooding sexiness!

    Good Story

Having read several other Violette Dubrinsky books, this is the FIRST one that I enjoyed. I love to read historical and werewolves, so this was really a treat. I enjoyed the characters and storyline. If she decides to write a sequel, I will definitely buy. I do recommend this read.

    more from this reviewer

a story of epic love with a twist of paranormal

First I need to say that I did not mean to pick this type of book to read.  I have never been a fan of paranormal. Well Violette Dubrinsky, has made me eat my words.  Never say never.

This book was so good.  Leon, a French werewolf, who has wealth and connections arrives in Louisiana with one purpose: to free as many slaves as he can.  During his mission he finds not only slaves but one of his own kind – Penny, who is a southern slave and a werewolf. The story takes place in the year of  1851.

Once Leon meets her, he teaches her how to control her bodies, both werewolf and human.  Leon also teaches Penny how to use her powers.  The attraction between Leon and Penny is undeniable and grows strongly.

The storyline in this book was excellent. Colorblind takes you back in history with a story of epic love with a twist of paranormal. The descriptions of the plantation and the description of how the slaves were treated was written well and detailed.  There are parts that I didn’t want to read ( whipping of slave), but it is history and did happen. The storyline tells of the good and the bad.  The story line has a excellent mixture of history and erotica, and the plot was great.

The characters are well rounded, developed and believable.

Colorblind is a tale of love in adversity, of two souls defying the odds to be together. A love story between two wolves that were under some strained circumstances. The author did an excellent job in capturing the time period of slavery. If you are a fan of paranormal, which I think I now am (smile), you will love this book.

Thank you Author Violette Dubrinsky for a wonderful, well-written story.

    Great Read!

I loved this book! Touching story (made me upset towards the ending though). I hope there's a story on Armand, he deserves happiness. I like the way it ties in with the Moonlight series. Hey, maybe one of their daughters and Eli can hook up!
But the story itself was good. Pick it up, specially if you liked Moonlight.
