Editorial Reviews

Library Journal - Library Journal
Di Suvero's Cor-Ten Steel sculptures, often resembling heaps of twisted construction debris, are not well served by the two-dimensionality of the printed page. To address this problem, Di Suvero has chosen a number of his favorite poems (ranging widely from Chaucer to Octavio Paz to Wallace Stevens) to ``replace this lost dimension.'' By themselves, however, the photographs quite effectively document Di Suvero's very recent work, whether monumental public pieces or intimate works under a foot tall. Also included are pen-and-ink sketches for some of the finished sculptures. Given the small time frame covered, this book is recommended only for major collections of contemporary or American art.-- Martin R. Kalfatovic, Natl. Museum of American Art/Natl.
