    Wonderful for any calorie counting diet!

    I am fortunate that I do no have Diabetes, I am using this book as a guide to help me know the caleries in the everyday foods (fast food's, too)so I can keep my calorie intake within the allowed amount for my specific weight and height, to slowly and healthily lose weight. The book is the size of your average paperback but very thick (603 pages) so it's not a light weight, but that's because it has every possible food source included! I would suggest opening the pages wide to gently break the stiffness of the binding, it will make it easier to use. It's helpful to use the table of contents at the front of the book as a guide to show what page number you should begin looking for the food source your interested in locating. They have all the name brand meals and individual foods included, so I highly doubt you won't be able to find what you are looking for.

    GREAT Resource!! Just needs serving sizes in grams

    THIS has turned out to be a great resource when i am out either shopping or planning meals. The only thing that could make this better is if it gave the serving sizes in grams or in some other units besides the standard " Serving size = 1"

    diabetics handbook for learning about carbs

    My spouse is a Type 2 diabetic and "just didn't get it" r/t carbohydrates.
    This book gave him exactly what he needed. Portions, carb counting and a huge selection of items are presented in an easy to find manner.

    Copmrehensive book for the everday person

    I brought this book with me to my doctor's office to show him after being diagnosed. He said that this is the most comprehensive book he has ever seen. It touches on EVERY topic he covers with his diabetic patients. It took my blood sugar one day to start falling under control with the tactics in this book.

    Nice guide for the exchange system!

    This is a great paperback if you also need to know the exchange system -- contains lots of info on fast food, frozen foods and other foods. I just wish they had done it in a spiral bound format so that it would be easier to open and read since you have to read the pages sideways. But I would recommend it as a pretty thorough reference on calories, fat grams, carbs, protein and the exchange system!
