This is Christy first book and she has done a wonderful Job. The story line is amazing and so many people can relate to it. I have to admit that in some of the POV I just skimmed thru. Laney is married with 2 teen kids and her husband verbal abuses her. Her self-esteem has been shattered. The verbal abuse as always turns to physical abuse. Her first day of her new job she meets her knight in shiny armor Chance Turner. Sparks fly… They are both married and miserable. They agree to be just friends but fate steps in and all bets are off. Laney finds the strength to stand up for her self and make a better life for her and her kids. But her Ex has other plans in mind. I am defiantly looking forward to book two of this series and to watch Christy grows as an Author.
Forbidden Forever is a masterfully written very touching story. From the very beginning of the novel the magnetic quality of Chrisy’s pen binds the reader’s heart and soul. Once I started the novel I could not put it down. The characters speak to the readers. They are full of life. The intelligent use of powerful language never allows the interest in novel go down. The twists and turns and the skilled way to present the happenings makes the work unique. I have loved this work. I recommend it to every one who wants to read a story brimming with life and vitality. The impact of the novel stays long after we close the book. A five star read. Purchase it today. THIS WORK DESERVES NOTHING LESS THAN 5 STARS. Laney Collins, is an immortal character created by Christy Dilg. As a professor of literature I have read and taught many works of fiction. Before writing this review I have closely observed the language used by the writer. I feel, in the portrayal of characterization, she falls in the category of great writers like George Elliot and Virginia Woolf. She know what to write and how much to write in a particular situation. The development of characters and the study of human relationships is presented with deftness. The way of presentation is beautiful. One falls in love with the characters. It is but natural that such mastery over language and story line will make readers fall in love with the author and at the same time cause heart burn for the competitors. Read it; enjoy it; gift it. I assure you, purchasing this work is an investment.
Which is more harmful? The marks that you see? Or the ones that you don't? Laney married at a young age and after having two kids with her husband her marriage went South. She's now tormented by the man who promised to cherish her until death. After years of being told how worthless and disgusting she is, she starts to believe it herself. She starts a new job with Dr. Turner as his assistant. The first day on the job, the attraction is immediate and over time it escalates until neither Laney or Chance can deny they both want more. If Laney gives in how will effect her children? Once the decision is made, there is no turning back. Two divorces, two crazed ex's, and a future to look forward to, but will it actually happen or is a hopeful dream? I felt bad for Laney and all that she had went through, but at the same time couldn't help but blame her. She is the one who put up with the cruelty thinking that no one else noticed. She plays the perfect victim and Chance the perfect knight in shining armor. Though, they both claim neither wrecked each others marriages, it's not true. This book shows what the consequences are of the decisions you make and what happens when you wait too long to make a stand. The love scenes between Laney and Chance are wonderful. They are playful as it's a new experience to love neither experienced with their spouses. The interactions between Chance and Laney's children was a great insight that isn't in many books. This book covered all aspects of the relationship. This book was a longer length as it has the story from both Laney and Chance's view point. I wasn't sure I would like that at first, but toward the middle you start to gain more insight as to what is happening by doing it this way. You see more of the outside relationships with Chance during his point of view. The characters are all likeable, except the crazy ex's. I would rate this book at 4 stars out of 5
If I had to make a one sentence review it would be: This book is about a second chance to get a loving family, and a life everyone dreams of. ****contains spoilers**** i just finished. Let me just say OMG! This was a page turner for sure. During everything with Michael I was sitting in the edge of my seat biting my nails!! What I loved about this story was that this was a more mature couple, and that these events can happen in real life. I loved how Laney was a mother first. She wasn't selfish she thought of her kids and how her actions would affect them. Chance is seriously the perfect man. I liked that the kids weren't baggage but a plus to the new relationship.
