Meet the Author

I'm a twenty six year old book junkie who is also obsessed with sports. Bengals, Buckeyes, Reds are my teams! I work for the government during the day, hang out with Air National Guard on the weekends, and have been married to my own book boyfriend for over seven years. We currently live right outside of Dayton, OH with our two cats.

If I’m not writing or looking through tons of photos of hot men, all in the name of research, then you can probably find me curled up with my Kindle, ignoring the rest of the world. I love my sports almost as much as I love my books. My other obsessions include red wine, hot men, country music, and all things Grace Potter.

This is the first book I have read by this author.  It was included in the Alphas on Top boxed set.  As soon as I was finished with Incinerate
i stopped reading the boxed set and immediately bought the other two books in this series. I love that the dialogue is real...graphic,
crude, but real.  I had a hard time putting my nook down while I was reading this book.

    Hot, Hot, Hot!

This is the 2nd book in the series by Tessa Teevan and it was better than the first. Don't get me wrong, I loved Jace and Lexie's story too, but Knox and Charlie's story? I couldn't get enough. I didn't want the book to end. It was that great! I cannot wait for Kale and Lucy's story.

I was given this book as an ARC for an honest review.
I gave this book 5 stars.
This is book two in the Explosive series, but can be read as a stand alone.

This is Knox and Charlie's story.

We were introduced to Knox in book one. He is Jace's friend and fellow soldier. And when something happens while they are out on deployment, Knox needs help when he goes home to recuperate. His brother volunteers for this, but has to go back to college when he has finals that he has to finish. So this is where Charlie comes in. She is a volunteer and helps soldiers when they are in need. You can't help but feel the sparks when these two meet. But they are both so stubborn and both have been hurt by previous relationships. Knox loves the fact that Charlie is stubborn, feisty and oh so mouthy. It gives him a challenge and he is not use to that. Charlie is attracted to Knox, but Knox is not something that she wants to get involved with she has always said that she would not get involved with a soldier, or a man that is grouchy and mouthy like Knox. The meds are kicking Knox's ass and making him into a big old grumpy bear. These two have their work cut out for them if they want to have a relationship and have it work.. But once they give in they set the pages on fire.  Can they keep the trust for each other and hang on to make something beautiful out of their lives. Or will everything they have been through in the past come back and rear its ugly head?

I loved this book, poor Knox not only has to deal with a wicked ex that tore his heart out, he also has to deal with a family that just doesn't understand him, and that has left some deep scars. It is hard to trust when the ones that you are suppose to count on the most are the ones that have left the most damage. Charlie has been in a relationship where she thought all was ok. And it turned out to be nothing but a big lie. And it is also hard for her to put her walls down and try to work things through with Knox. The attraction is immediate, the trust has to be built over time. I loved also that this was not rushed we got a glimpse of their lives throughout months. We were taking on a journey of their life not just a glimpse of their beginning. This is a beautiful story about love and giving someone your heart after you didn't think you had a heart left to give. It is about finding someone and just knowing that your life will never be the same.  Thank you once again Tessa for a beautiful story that was told so well.. I love your work. I cannot wait to read what you have coming up in the future! <3

This was another great book in the Explosive series! Tessa Teeva

This was another great book in the Explosive series! Tessa Teevan has once again brought passion, humor, Love, and some seriously sexy military men to the pages for her readers. I was immediately drawn into Knox and Charlie’s world from the very first sentence. I was drawn in by the intensity and realistic feel of the story. The fantastic characters and engaging story line really make this a great book to read.
Knox and Charlie are so much alike at times that its quite funny to see them go at each other. They are both very stubborn and independent. They’ve also both suffered through bad exes in the past and I think that fact allows them to start to trust each other. Knox is one seriously sexy sergeant in the US Army and disarms explosives for a living. Carlie is an Army brat and not only volunteers to help wounded soldiers, but also works to help soldiers take advantage of benefits and schooling. Even though they’ve both become a bit jaded from previous bad relationships, they slowly wear on each other and the result is nothing but explosive. These are characters (including their friends) were so much fun to read about and I quickly became attached to them.
The story flowed nicely and I never felt like the story was lagging. In fact, I sat and read the whole book in one go. It was easy to immerse myself in their world and relate to the characters. This was wonderful story and I really look forward to the next book in the series. I think this story deserves an awesome 5 out of 5 stars rating!

Incinerate by Tessa Teevan is the second book in the Explosive s

Incinerate by Tessa Teevan is the second book in the Explosive series, but can be read as a standalone.

Knox Wellington is a very complicated man. He does not believe in love, as love has burned him in the past. Why get involved with someone when it leads to heartbreak? So Knox loves 'em and leaves 'em. He has a huge issue with trust. While in the military, Knox gets inured pretty badly after an explosion. A volunteer is the hired to assist him with everyday life. Enter Charlotte Davenport (Charlie). Charlie is not your average heroine. She is sassy, confident, and has a mouth of her. She was raised by her dad and takes no nonsense. Charlie also has a bad past when it comes to love.

The attraction is immediate when Knox and Charlie meet for the first time. And the second time. Charlie ends up being the volunteer to help Knox. He refuses at first, but then gives in because he knows he needs help.

"I'm completely confused at my reaction to him. I want to gauge his eyes in one moment and then rip his clothes off in the next. He's sweet, he's an ass, he's warm, he's cold. He flirts, he scowls, but dammit if my heart doesn't melt when he smiles"

I loved the witty banter between Knox and Charlie. It was natural and went with the flow of the story. It's a perfect mix of sweet, sexy, steamy. They are both so stubborn and refuse to be genuinely nice to each other. There is always a slight sexual undertone in their interactions. They both feel it, but refuse to give in for awhile. When they do give in, it's passionate, heart-felt, and captivating. When you've been hurt it's hard to give someone your heart again. But sometimes, a person is worth that risk. Knox saw that risk and took it anyway. Every emotion. Every word. I FELT it. Do you hear that? That's my heart beating for Knox. He gave me ALL THE FEELS. I held on to every word. When Knox speaks it is with truth and conviction. And when he loves, watch out. It. Is. Beautiful.

"Here's the thing. I'm tired of this roommate... I want more than that. I want you to be my girl. I want you to be in my bed, just like this."

"Here's the thing Knox. You didn't even to ask. I was already yours"

Besides being hot, Knox is stubborn, brooding, yet charming. He is also one of the most passionate male characters I have ever read. When Knox loves, he loves hard. He loves with every fiber in his body. That's why his past hurt so much, it made him not want to love again. Until, Charlie that is. She represented everything he swore never to go back on, but he couldn't stay away from her. It's about time a heroine like Charlie came along. She is fun, strong, and completely irrevocably in love with Knox. The build up of their feelings is the heart of this book. It allows you to fall for Knox and Charlie. Them being together makes sense. Their love is raw, genuine, and knows no boundaries.

“This isn’t a one night thing. This isn’t roommates hooking up. This is you and me. This is us. Falling into place, the way we’re meant to. And I’m tired of fighting it. I don’t want to anymore.”

Incinerate is one of those books that you have to read from beginning to end. Life just has to take a back seat. The writing draws you in from the first page and you are captivated by the story and it's characters until the end. You don't read Tessa Teevan's books. You live them. You experience them. Knox Wellington. You stole my heart. You made me believe in love again. That true, all consuming love does exist. FIVE beautiful, rugged, all consuming, passionate stars to Incinerate!

Tessa Teevan couldn't have named this series any more appropria

Tessa Teevan couldn't have named this series any more appropriately! Both Ignite and now Incinerate are explosive reads and she is blazing her way onto the New Adult scene with romances that will heat your blood, swoon like crazy, and sigh in utter contentment. Both books are dual POV, which is always a favorite of mine, but she does such a great job of capturing the male voice. Reading about Jace and Knox felt realistic and I fell hard for both boys.

As much as I loved Jace and Alexa's story, I have to say- Charlie and Knox really take the cake. I loved their interactions and the fact that neither of them back down when it comes to what they think and feel. They complemented each other so well- both needed a strong partner to challenge them and be the other's strength in times of need. Being Teevan's sophomore novel, I already see how much her writing has grown and matured from Ignite. She is definitely one to keep your eye on folks!

Let's start with Knox, shall we? We first meet him while he is stationed in Afghanistan and after an explosion nearly takes his life, his last thoughts before drifting into unconsciousness are that he is absolutely and utterly alone. My heart instantly went out to the cynical, jaded man who has sworn off relationships and love after being badly burned by two people he loved and trusted in the past.

Knox has always been self-sufficient and being in this position of helplessness absolutely eats away at him. He is less than thrilled when he finds out his younger brother has hired someone to come help him out while he is recovering. To get his mind off everything, his brother and best friend take him out to a bar to live a little and let loose. Knox goes to appease his friends, but is pretty grumpy being out when he knows getting laid isn't really an option right now. A pretty brunette shows interest in him and introduces herself and he is pretty heartless with his brush-off. Imagine his surprise when the very same brunette he can't stop thinking about shows up on his door the next day!

Charlie and Knox do not get off on the right foot at all. He is moody and grumpy and manages to piss her off in the span of a few hours by sticking his foot in his mouth. They are undoubtedly attracted to one another, but Knox is pretty hot and cold with Charlie in the beginning and that drives her crazy. She never knows which Knox she's going to get, and I love that she stands her ground, but also knows when to walk away. Knox respects the hell out of Charlie and after he stops being a pain in the ass, the two end up becoming friends.

I loved Charlie's character. She is such a strong female lead despite the fact that she is still hurting over a recent betrayal herself. She doesn't let her weaknesses show and hides her broken heart behind her no-nonsense, tough exterior. However, I admire how strong she is and that she doesn't let her emotions control her, especially where her ex is concerned. There are certain things that are unforgiveable in Charlie's eyes and infidelity is one of them. After being betrayed, trust is essential to her. She will not give her heart to someone she doesn't trust or doesn't trust her in return.

As I said earlier, this series is so aptly named because Charlie and Knox's relationship certainly is explosive. It's a slow burn though. Knox not only has some serious trust issues to work through, but he is adamant about the fact that he's not looking for a relationship. Charlie has to protect her heart so she doesn't end up hurt again. The build up between these two is extremely sweet and sexy at the same time. There were so many moments I literally had to stop reading because I was swooning so hard. Every time he called her sweetheart, I felt my heart skip a beat. And when he asks her to stay at the gym I felt like I was going to go into cardiac arrest! As I said though- Charlie will have to decide if she can risk giving Knox her heart and Knox will have to make the decision as to whether or not he can stand losing her. After years of spurning relationships and love, it's not something he can just jump right into. I felt Teevan paced this transition perfectly- it didn't feel forced or rushed, instead it felt just right.

Ignite fans never fear! We get plenty of Jace and Lexi in this book as well! Jace and Knox's friendship is one of my favorites, as they are more than friends- they are true brothers to one another. I also liked seeing how quickly Lexi and Charlie befriended one another and enjoyed both Knox and Charlie's friendship with Kale and I cannot wait for his and Lucy's story up next! These two have some pretty big obstacles to overcome and I am really excited to see what direction Teevan takes their story. There is also a pretty important emphasis on family in this book. Having been raised by just her father, he and Charlie are really close. Being an Army officer himself, he can be pretty intimidating when he wants to be, but really just wants the best for his daughter. Knox's family also play an important role in this story, as he only associates with his younger brother Cohen. He comes from a wealthy family, but has not spoken to his parents in years. As for his older brother Branson, well he's not someone Knox has any desire to speak to ever again. And I can't really say I blame him! However, I also am happy with the way Tessa handled that situation because life is too short to live with regret and grudges.

Overall, Incinerate had everything I look for in a romance- strong characters, good development, heavy sexual tension and chemistry, and a realistic plot where the characters face challenges and obstacles and still come out on top. I loved that this story was low in angst and that there wasn't a suffocating amount of drama. Oh and military boys! Let's not forget that! Always a plus! And can I just stop a minute to thank Tessa for making Knox a Vols fan? <3 <3 <3

Get this book ladies and gents- you won't be disappointed.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars Injured in an explosion while on

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Injured in an explosion while on a mission as EOD Specialist for the army, Knox Wellington is none to happy that he will be out of commission for the unforseeable future. Not only that, but he is going to have to accept help doing simple tasks until the doc clears him for some PT. So when he opens his door to find the gorgeous brunette he had been trying hard to ignore the night before at the bar with his mates, to find out SHE is the rehabilitation volunteer who will be assisting him through his recovery, he is all but pissed.

As if the blow off she got last night at the bar wasn't enough, Charlie Davenport had no illusions left with the hunk who snubbed her being the same guy as the scowling patient standing before her. Lovely. But, growing up with a father in the military, she is not a stranger to the way these strong and capable men handle illness or injury......POORLY. Charlie is here to do a job and she'll stick with it.... and will try her very best to ignore the sparks that fly whenever they are around each other.

When circumstances put Charlie in Knox' spare bedroom, the close proximity forces the two to work around their initial hostility and palpable chemistry and forge a tentative friendship. Spending more time together also brings down some of the defenses both have erected after their respective negative experiences with the opposite sex and before long, very little is holding back the electricity that sparks between them.

But there is no moving toward a future before the past is left behind for good, and both Charlie and Knox find out there are doors that need closing. For good.

Fabulous!! I loved IGNITE.... I ADORE INCINERATE!!

Tessa Teevan's writing has such a comfortable flow to it, there isn't a place in the book where I feel I am rushed, or wishing to flip ahead. The pacing is perfect, the language on par. The heat is delicious without being too crass for those more sensitive (note: I'm not necessarily referring to myself.. HA)  and there is a hint of clever humor and a definite psychological intelligence evident in her stories. An author I will never turn down a read from!!

Tessa's characters in this book in particular, were so compelling!

Knox, who was 'wronged' by family and young love, had kept himself hardened in that shell of hurt, never quite moving on. And at this point in his life, where it had almost become irrelevant who was wrong or right, he was allowing it to have too much impact on his present and his future. Underneath the shell of the pissed off young man, had developed a wonderful loving and loyal, confident mature adult man, one who finally got to see the light of day, when his hurt younger shell was challenged by a certain mouthy and fierce tomboy by the name of Charlie.

Growing up without her mom, Charlotte had very little, if any, female influence and although she didn't seem to feel she 'missed' anything, since her father filled most all of her needs, she did end up a tomboy with a proclivity to relate better to the male population. No surprise that she had grown up strong and could stand her ground when faced with grumpy and taciturn Knox. In fact, she had no trouble standing up to any man who stepped into her path.

The beauty of the pairing of these two strong and determined individuals, is that despite their strong and unflappable stance in the world, they seem to encourage and allow the other to bring out their softer side. For Knox that means allowing himself to open himself and bare himself emotionally to Charlie, and for Charlie it means to allow herself to be and feel completely vulnerable as long as Knox is there to 'hold her together'.

¿Love, love, love this study of transforming relationships!!¿

**ARC provided in return for an honest relationship.**

Warning: Reading this book may cause you to fall head over heels

Warning: Reading this book may cause you to fall head over heels for Knox and Charlie in such a way that you'll be unable to move on
for days. Possibly even weeks. They're THAT good! Don't say I didn't try to warn you.

Incinerate is the second book in the Explosive series, and though each book can technically be read as a standalone, I HIGHLY
recommend reading Ignite before starting on this one. Ignite centers around Jace and Lexi, both of whom are constant figures in
Incinerate seeing as Jace and Knox are best friends and practically brothers. You also don’t want to miss the hilarious introduction of
Knox in the first book, which really sets the ground for what you’ll see here.

Knox Wellington is very closed off and bitter when it comes to love. He was hurt and betrayed in the past which is why he’s so jaded
about relationships now, and because of that, casual hook-ups are all he’s looking for in-between his duty as an EOD specialist in the
Army. He’s damn good at his job, but all of that comes crashing down around him when he and his team are seriously injured in the
    line of duty.

“I’m … alone, and I’m going to die this way in this godforsaken country. Shattered. Broken. And completely alone.”

Charlotte Davenport is an army brat who helps wounded service members. After having caught her fiancé cheating on her, she has no
interest in dating - especially not a soldier. Charlie is in for a surprise when her newest assignment turns out to be the rude guy that
she met at a bar the night before, which just so happens to be Knox.

Both are headstrong, stubborn characters who have had their fair share of heartbreak. When they are partnered together, will they be
able to co-exist and find common ground, or will the passion between them incinerate everything in their paths? Read to find out!

Knox is officially my first book boyfriend for 2014. He’s hot, sweet, caring, loyal to a fault, and though he has a bad habit of jumping to
conclusions, I wouldn't have him any other way. As his story progresses and you learn more about his back story, you completely
understand why he’s so cynical and you can’t really blame the guy.

Charlie, for me, was a great heroine and I officially have a girl crush. She wasn't whiny or needy at all. She’s independent, smart, caring,
and can go head to head with Knox when he decides to be combative. She’s quick to say what she won’t tolerate, and it’s a refreshing
change of pace from the female characters that I've become so used to seeing. I absolutely adored her and she is exactly the kind of
friend that I would want by my side.

Incinerate is Tessa’s sophomore novel and she didn't disappoint! In fact, she knocked this one out of the ballpark entirely. I love it when
an author manages to outdo themselves, and I can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us! The only problem I really had with
this story was trying to figure out who I loved more: Knox or Charlie.

I give Incinerate 5 explosive stars, though honestly, I would rate it higher if I could. It captured my attention and refused to let go, even
after I was done reading! It made me feel, smile, curse, and talk to my kindle like a crazy person. What more can I ask for?

*An ARC was kindly provided for an honest review. The fact that it was an ARC in no way reflects what I rate a book.*
