A young Capitol Hill intern disappears and it turns out she's been having an affair with the senator she works for. Not so hard to believe, right?! What happened to her? Where is she? Those are the questions that drives this novel, and the vortex of lies, cover-up, fear, deceipt will have you glued tot he page (or your Nook). Top notch!
Suspense you won't be able to put down.
Intern is a tightly plotted thriller that exposes the dark nature of political power in this country, and yet this book still manages to put a human face on each of these characters. April, a political intern, unleashes a media firestorm when she goes missing. Soon after, her married lover, Senator Barry, becomes the prime suspect in her case. What follows is a fantastic book that you won't be able to put down. A+ Highly recommended! Especially for our elected officials, who can't seem to keep it in their pants. Know what I mean, John McCain, Gary Condit, John Edwards, Bill Clinton, Newt Gingrich, John Kennedy? Okay, I'll stop there, but I could go on and on, which shows just how relevant this book is.
Sensational read -- ripped from the headlines, very moving. It will keep you guessing, and you will care very much about these characters.
A sensational political thriller. The mystery of the missing intern will captivate you, the people affected by it will break your heart.
This is a brilliant, political thriller. Pure, rich entertainment that seems very plausible indeed.
Can't put this book down!
INTERN is a fast-paced thrill ride through the seamy underbelly of the political power that thrives in this country. Bonnie Hearn Hill deftly shows us the people behind the scenes as well as those in the forefront. She brings to life the naïve Intern, the power-hungry Senator, the supportive Wife and the proud Mother so vividly that we feel we know them intimately. Even if we can’t always tell the good guys from the bad. All we know for sure is that we need to know more. Each character has their own unique voice and story, and Hearn Hill skillfully allows them their musings about just what exactly happened to the Intern. Readers are compelled to keep turning page after page as the story unfolds and secret after secret is unveiled, until at last, the truth is revealed and the reader is left breathless. This is one you definitely don’t want to miss.
The senator will do anything for power. His wife can no longer ignore the truth. His young lover is trapped in a deadly affair. INTERN is a political thriller that you won't be able to put down--or forget.
This book wasn't all that great for me. Predictable. Not a page turner.
