Isn’t It Romantic by Eileen Dreyer writing as Kathleen Korbel Korbel Classic Romance, Humorous Series #2 What a joy this book was to read! I loved it from first page till last!!! Set in 1992 this is a story of two childhood friends who have remained best friends through whatever life has brought their way. Brooke Ferguson was the sidekick to her brother and Pet Cooper when they were growing up. She tagged along with them and was just “there” but never really “seen” by Pete until his Aunt Mamie passes away, the funeral takes place and his eyes are opened to the changes that have occurred. What a delight that funeral and the reading of the will were! The funeral Mamie wanted was wild and wonderful but not the send-off she received so Brooke talks Pete into taking off with her to find the elements of the funeral that were requested but not provided and what a ten day whirlwind of experiences they encountered! This friends to lovers story is well written, charming, and made me happy. I especially liked it because even though there is a difficulty for Brooke and Pete to overcome it is something realistic that will strengthen their friendship and relationship once it is dealt with. Both characters are strong and communicate well with one another. The writing is excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it last night before going to bed – it made me smile :) This is the second of the Korbel Classics that I have read recently and I would like to thank eBook Discovery for a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. I am eager to read more of this series when it comes out. 5 Stars
