Overview

From the New York Times Bestselling Author of Stepbrother Dearest...

Nina Kennedy was alive...but not living...until she met him.

Planes, trains, heights...you name it, Nina was afraid of it and led a sheltered life ruled by irrational fears and phobias. When she moves to Brooklyn for nursing school, that life is turned upside down, as she develops an intense but unwanted attraction to her gorgeous roommate, who's pierced, tattooed and just happens to be the smartest person she's ever met.

Behind Jake Green's rough exterior and devilish smile, lies a heart of gold. He makes it his mission to change Nina's outlook on life. When he agrees to tutor her, they forge a bet and the stakes are high as Jake forces Nina to face her demons. He just wasn't expecting to fall hard for her in the process.

What Nina doesn't realize, is that Jake has been living his own private hell. Once he drops a bombshell, will their love survive it?

Told in two parts from both Nina and Jake's points of view, Jake Undone is a standalone story and a companion to the novel, Gemini.

Loved this book. Different writing with for awhile your reading from Nina's point of view, then Jake's. This is the second in the series, I am now reading the first, Gemini about Jake's older sister. Nina and Jake had a rocky relationship, but they first started out as friends/roommates. He helped her over come her phobia of enclosed spaces, (ect.), while he had a hidden secret. Jake was one of kind, kind of guy, that you wished more men were like. There was funny parts, sad, and steamy loving. It is an 297 pages, and well worth the read. I did get a little annoyed with Nina towards the end, but still an awesome story.

Great sexual tension and buildup with a twist you won't see coming. The book was both funny and sexy and surprisingly emotional.

What a wonderful story. I love a book that sucks you right in and continues to move you along with out constant repeats of past scenes. This authors writing style and subject matter for this story reminds me of Lisa Eugene. It speaks about real life problems such as mental illness and how people deal with it. Not many men especially young men would go to the lengths to make sure their estranged wife were cared for. It makes Jake even more hot.

Nina Kennedy was alive but not really living. Nina was afraid of everything and led a sheltered life because of those fears. Despite all that she moves to Brooklyn for nursing school, and her life is turned upside down. As soon as her eyes land on Jake Green's she is instantly attracted. Jake is pierced, tattooed, and the smartest person Nina has ever met. Jake Green is hiding something though. When he agrees to be her tutor, he makes her a bet to face her fears for every test she doesn't Ace. Jake doesn't expect to fall hard for Nina and Nina doesn't expect to uncover Jake's secret. After I read Stepbrother Dearest, I looked for more from this author and boy am I glad I did! I read this in one sitting, I couldn't put it down. Jake and Nina are a couple of "bent" people who think they are "broken" and beyond repair. There is just so much going on and holding each of them back, neither of them could see past their own fears. Penelope Ward has a way to captivate and grab hold of the reader and keep them interested until the famous last words "The End". Love Love Love Ms. Penelope Ward!

I loved this book. I was always interested in how Jake's live and love has played out. It was great to read both Jake's and Nina's point of view. I think I liked this book the most

The book was so predictable and the characters became very annoying about a third of the way in. Agree with reviewer who said it was vey cliched. At the end the author threw in totally unnecessary drama that took away from what little chemistry there was and killed it for me. Have liked other books by this author.

This novel was really cute and sweet. The characters were clearly defined and the plot well thought out. I lived the way that the author paid attention to detail without overdoing it.

5 Stars From Sammy's Book Obsession! MY THOUGHTS~  I chose to buy and read this book because I LOVED the first book that I read by author Penelope Ward, Stepbrother Dearest. I'm happy to say that I enjoyed Jake Undone every bit as much! I seriously had trouble putting this book down and likely could have read it in one sitting if that pesky real-life thing didn't keep getting in my way! It was captivating from front to back. This author is great for her ability to ensnare the reader's attention and not let go throughout the whole story!  The writing in Jake Undone was very well done and the characters were both well developed and complex. There were some seriously unexpected twists and turns in the story that were awesome! Loved it! Can't wait to read Jake Understood and My Skylar. I have no doubt that they will follow suit and be as well written and as great as this one!

Loved the story for the most part..... However, the author confused me with Jake's wishy washy attitude about staying true to Nina or letting his (little brain) take over

4.5 stars! Emotional and Steamy! I've owned a signed paperback copy of this book since the end of June 2014.  I didn't read this book until last week.  I need to get better at reading books I already own, especially if  I'm missing out on awesomeness like Jake Undone.  I'd heard all of the connected books were amazing, but I had to read one to find out on my own.  With Jake Understood releasing soon, I knew now was the perfect time to read this book. I think the best part of this book was the chemistry between Nina and Jake. Nina had this instant attraction to Jake, but it took a while for her to open up to Jake and for him to open to her as well.  I liked how close the two of them were; It was very easy to feel their connection.  I liked Nina.  I felt horrible she was crippled by her fears, and I loved how Jake tried to help her get over them. I could also feel the sadness in Jake and  I felt like whatever he was struggling with was hard.  I liked seeing him leaning on Nina for moral support. Another one of my favorite scenes was the one which gave this book its title.  That scene was slayed me and it made so much sense.  I want to mention more, but I can't without giving away pivotal information about the book. I also liked how the book was told from dual points of view.  It really helped me understand the problems the couple was facing and their approaches to finding solutions.  This book made me laugh and cry, but I loved it all as I read it.  There were a couple of scenes that felt over the top and stretched my imagination too much, but they made for some great talking points and laughs with my guy friends. For example there's this one phone sex scene that turned me on in the beginning and just as I was getting to the good part, turned me off.  Well it made me laugh and wonder, so it broke my concentration.  Perhaps it's just me.   I also loved getting to meet Skylar and Mitch.  I can't wait to read their story! I want to thank Penelope Ward for talking about a number of issues in this book that I don't think are talked about enough.  It really made this book more powerful. I loved being in Jake's head.  I'm really looking forward to getting into his head again and seeing what he's up to now as well as what he has to say.  I have no doubt Penelope Ward has done an amazing job.  I don't regret impulsively walking up to her table at Book Bash and buying all of her published books unread.  I can't wait to see what other delights are hiding in the pages of her stories!

I wasn't sure what to expect but once I got through the first chapter I was unable to put the book down. The story was beautifully written and I love Jake to the moon. I found myself cheering for Jake and Nina around every corner. I highly recommend this book. I love the way this author can tell a story. She's my new favorite author.
