Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher
“A wealth of inspiration and techniques. It covers virtually all materials and ways to get color on a page, so no matter what you like to work with you will find something that will either be right in your comfort zone or inspire you to try something new.” --Craft Gossip
Library Journal
Doh (We Make Dolls) talks to 19 different art journalers for this overview of journaling techniques. The subject isn't text-based diaries; these artists incorporate a variety of media, including pen-and-ink, paint, collage, and rubber stamps, to illustrate their thoughts. A wide variety of styles is represented, from brightly colored explosions of text and pictures to more subdued, nature-inspired watercolors, and the subject matter ranges from "deep thought" navel-gazing to simple recollections of a day in the journaler's life. The interviews with each journaler explore his or her approach to the practice and provide hints and tips for artists interested in exploring art journals as a creative outlet. VERDICT Though the target audience is journalers, scrapbookers will also find unique ideas and inspiration for adding mixed-media artistry to their pages.
