Who killed suburban wife and mother Nancy Cooper near her Cary, North Carolina home?

Suspicion fell on Nancy's handsome husband, Brad Cooper. But why would a devoted husband and father of two young girls want to kill his wife? Nancy's parents and friends knew why. And what transpired revealed secrets not only about Brad, but about their deceptively quiet town.

It would take a mountain of damning evidence to make sure justice was served.

Poorly written, devoid of many important facts

Having followed the trial, I know many details about the trial and investigation that never made their way into the media reports and they also didn't make their way into this book. Because of this, it made the book less than factual. For example, Ms. Lamb describes the police account of the missing shoes and dress but doesn't go on to explain how the jury was misled about these things at the trial.

She spent a great deal of time summarizing witness affidavits; witnesses who later lost all credibility when they were found lying in court. Yet their words were presented as though they were fact.

This was the most unfair trial I have ever seen but the unfairness was barely touched upon in the book. The unfairness resulted in question as to the confidence in the verdict. Many (including myself) believe the police mishandling of the case likely resulted in a wrongful conviction. I wish she had spent her time writing about that. That is the story that needs to be told.

It's a good book... but a sad story!

I heard about this case on tv. Such a sad story, and I feel bad for Nancy's family.
