This book was awful and totally unrealistic. Why did they like each other? I never saw it and Angelo calling Gabe cob was so overused and got old fast.

Reviewed by Michelle V. Book provided by the publisher for review Review originally posted at Romancing the Book Love the Sinner by Avril Ashton is a fast-paced, exciting, erotic m/m romance about two people on opposite sides of the law who find themselves irresistibly drawn to each other. Detective Gabriel Ashby is on the force with the NYPD. He’s in a long term relationship with a woman that he lives with. He has never even been attracted to another man in his life, until he sees Angelo Pagan. Pagan is a criminal and a leader of one of the most notorious gangs in New York. Gabe wants to bring this gang and their leader down once and for all. Why, though, can he not stop thinking about Pagan? Why does this dangerous criminal make him feel the way he does? He could never act on these feelings with someone on the opposite side of the law, could he? I very highly recommend this book and give it a rating of 5 out of 5. The writing is superb, with a story that completely hooked me from the first page and kept me on the edge of my seat. The combination of passion and conflict between the characters was an incredible combination and kept me glued to the pages wanting to see what was going to happen. It’s packed full of drama, action, mystery, suspense, and romance. The heat level is high but it only enhances the story. It’s not just erotica, but also an amazing story with vivid characters. I loved both Gabe and Angelo and often found myself torn and unable to pick sides when there was conflict. I wanted things to work out for both them! I love a good action/suspense thriller, and I love an erotic romance. This book combines the best of both and creates a thrilling and very entertaining story! I have heard that there is a book in the works about one of the other characters in this story and I’m so excited about that. I can’t wait for more!

Gabe knows something is different the moment he meets Angelo in the interrogation room. Angelo is a Gun runner and possibly a killer and Gabe is a cop, and straight. But the moment they touch his feelings run wild.  Angelo is tired of hiding but has no choice a gang-leader of his caliber stands no chance if it’s found out he is gay. But the moment he met Gabe he knew he was the one he has always wanted.  Wow this is a beautiful story! I love how these two men are so different but know inside how they need the other. I also liked that Gabe wasn’t a hidden gay, that he was truly straight until he met Angelo. To me this made the story even more magical. I liked how the sex was so hot but  the way it was mixed in with all the drama and gang related stuff really worked for me. I liked never knowing whether or not these two would make it. Such a beautiful, bittersweet story. Do they make it? Is it a HEA? I’m not telling You will have to buy this one * while you’re at it better get the next two and have them handy… Recommendation: If you love a story of two men that shouldn’t be together, Straight man falling for a man, a love that seems impossible, Cops, Gun runners, mobsters, true love, and really sensuous and hot mansex, this one is for you. I am addicted to this series!

Amazing! I came back to this book's description just to pick details to write a review of the next in this series. But, then I read the last review and just couldn't let it stand. This was an amazing story and it put this author on my watch list - as in watching for the next in this series to appear. The story grips you and drags you along a fast paced, moving plot while you hold your breath the whole time. Their language and interactions match the scenes and situations. Angelo & Gabe are perfect together and you cheer them on while at the same time you start to doubt they really will be able to overcome everything in their way.

***I Also Love the Sinner**** The Story wrapped me in so much emotions that I absolutely melted. Ms. Ashton was able to pen a story that wrapped me up in the love story of Angelo and Gabe so hard, I wanted to help Angel overcome all obstacles so they can be together. What I loved about the whole story was Ms. Ashton took the time to develop the Characters so it wouldn't be the typical Boy meets Boy story. I LOVE the whole story and how it ended. I hope the author will develop a story for Kane and continue writing great books.

Its a phenomenal book, raw and real. It pulls you in from the very first page and keeps you hooked til the very last. A heart wrenching impossible love story full of twists and turns you'll never see coming. I definitely see myself rereading this book in the future and thats saying something because I rarely return to a book I've already read. There are over 500 books in my nook and in my personal possession and I've only reread 1 without skimming or jumping to my favorite scene or section. This book took hold of my heart from the first kiss to the final page and never once faltered in its grasp. I can honetly say I'll be looking for more from this author. This book will remain a favorite.

The premise of this book drew me in with its bad boy falling for a sexy male cop amongst the world of gang violence. The sparks exploded between Gabe and Angelo across an interrogation room table and what followed was an extremely erotic gay-for-you story that kept you on the edge of your seat as retribution was slowly being doled out. Angelo was left no choice but to become gang leader after the murder of his father. He doesn't enjoy committing violence but to avenge his father's murder and keep his neighborhood clean and safe he'll do whatever must be done. As the death toll towards his family climbs he starts rethinking his future plans. An unexpected encounter with sensitive and sexy cop Gabe finalizes his decision and as they get closer together Angelo's life is put even more in danger. Angelo is to die for, utterly delectable, and I can see why Gabe is drawn to him even though he's never been interested in men before. He oozes sex appeal and you could feel his animal magnetism whenever he came on the scene. Gabe was a sensitive soul and always wanted to see the good in Angelo. He purposely set aside what he knows of Angelo in order to have a relationship with him. It didn't seem realistic that he could live with himself knowing the crimes Angelo had committed and this does in fact finally pull them apart. Their relationship is one big up and down emotional rollercoaster ride as both want nothing but the truth from the other. Their sexual interludes are extremely intense and erotic and almost overwhelm the story in their frequency. The eroticism once or twice edges close to violence as each man stakes his claim over the other. The ending of the book puts a perfect bow on Gabe and Angelo's relationship even though it seems a bit too pat and a bit unbelievable. It was satisfying though and made all of their struggles worthwhile. With a memorable cast of secondary characters and an intensely emotional storyline this gay-for-you story easily draws the reader in and has me excited to read more from this talented author. 3.5 stars

The premise drew me in too...and dropped me on my head! I don't know if I will actually make it all the way through the book right now, but at 300 pages in...I am extremely disappointed. The author seems to believe that "manly" men speak in expletives. I don't mind the profanity though...just the awkward way its used. Dropping the f-bomb every two words does not indicate that men are talking. Used well the profanity could have been authentic and hilarious. Instead in suffered from...real men sound like idots syndrome. I found myself unable to believe in the attraction between Gabe and Angel and feel like it could have been handled a little better. It totally came out of nowhere for went from "ive got an erection" to "i just want to stalk you" in 0 to 60 seconds. So far I have no idea why they are attracted to each except they get erections everytime they see each other or why they would be anything beyond sex buddies.Queue the average sex scenes. Normallly when reviewers talk about how characters using nicknames bother them, I never actually notice it when I'm reading. OMG...if Angel called Gabe "cop" once he said it 5 million times and it never got cute or sexy to me. The dialogue overall was blah and the author's descriptions of "gang life" read like they came from a tv show. You could totally skip this and miss nothing.
