Bolton has written many college texts in engineering and other technical subjects, and here introduces engineering students to the basic mathematics needed in the field, beginning with the simplest notions of adding and multiplication. He develops tools in number and mensuration, algebra, trigonometry, graphing, and calculus. Each chapter discusses principles, then presents worked examples and problems; the answers are in the back. He does not note a date for the first edition, but the second reflects changes in the three General Vocational Qualifications courses it is designed to cover. He does not include a bibliography.
