This parent-child love poem stresses rhythmic words and clear artwork for babies. At the same time, it fosters an environment of early book sharing with a text that is meaningful to adults. It begins: "Maybe, my baby, / you'll run a fine race" and a bright photograph shows a baby holding a medal. The next page pictures a baby holding a rocket and a globe ball accompanied by the text, "Maybe you'll rocket/ way up into space. / But I see while I'm looking deep into your face that's sure too early to tell." This is part of a new series based on studies that show the first three years of life are the most active period of language acquisition. This was designed to encourage early reading aloud and to help parents match books and children's development.

    What a darling little book for Newborn and up. The pictures are bright and of other babies. A very short read but very well written to read to your little one. It is also strong so pages won't tear if baby wants to hold it by themselves.

    I love this book

    This book has a simple message: unconditional love. It's also easy to memorize and fun to recant during diaper changes, fussy periods, or just when you're holding your little one.
