Editorial Reviews

Expression Design is the graphic designer's and illustrator's component of Microsoft's powerful new Expression suite: Using it, you can create vector images that fit seamlessly into tomorrow's richer, more visual Web and desktop applications. Long anticipated, it's finally arrived, along with an outstanding companion: this Microsoft Step by Step tutorial.

Sara Froehlich, who might be the No. 1 expert on Expression Design outside Microsoft, has distilled its core capabilities into ten surprisingly simple, hands-on lessons. You'll quickly move from navigating Expression Design's Workspace through using layers, fills, strokes, and a whole lot more. While Expression Design is primarily a vector tool, Froehlich also walks you through incorporating bitmaps into your designs. She also shows how to export image files to everything from raster formats to PDF to XAML, Microsoft's exciting new markup language for creating immersive user interfaces.
