What People are saying about this

Sam Haskell
This book is a collector's dream . . . a treasure chest filled with all that makes Mississippi so special. (Sam Haskell. Former VP, William Morris Agency, Author, Promises I Made My Mother)
Patti Carr Black
At last, a brag book worthy of its subject: notable Mississippians well-chosen. Neil White has assembled outstanding photographs with breezy descriptions of accomplishments. Beyond icons in sports, entertainment, literature, and politics, he has included little-known Mississippians to keep an eye on. Recommended for arming all would-be Mississippi ambassadors. (Patti Carr Black, The Mississippi Story)
Bob Guccioni Jr.
I love Mississippians, and I love this book —- a century wide, ultimate Yearbook of the Class that all succeeded: Faulkner, Tennessee Williams, Oprah, Jimmy Buffett (Jimmy Buffett!), plus John Grisham, Jim Henson, Jerry Rice, Brett Favre, hundreds of NFL-playing Mannings, and Joey Lauren Adams. There are more of America's greatest musicians than perhaps all other states combined. Start with Robert Johnson. Go on, I'll wait. Add Bo Didley, Ike Turner, Tammy Wynette and Elvis. Even space people, it turns out, came from here: Apollo 13 astronaut Fred Haise, and "My Favorite Martian" actor Ray Walston. Darth Vader is a Mississippian —- who knew? (James Earl Jones on Earth.) Great photos and stories. Great book. Great State. (Bob Guccioni, Jr., Founding Editor, Spin magazine)
Shepard Smith
For the first time today I found a moment to sit down at my desk. On it: Mississippians. I'm so proud of our state and our people and to see so many of them in front of me brought yet another smile on a perfect New York City day. (Shepard Smith, Fox News Anchor)
