Meet the Author

My early work (eight-years-old) would be called fan fiction today. I began by writing my version of Bobbsey Twins novels on legal pads that my dad brought home from the office. As an only child – in the days before children became little electronic receivers – there was often not much to do other than seek amusement in my own head.Childhood fantasies involved being the only girl (for some odd reason) at a ranch for wayward boys. Yes. I do realize this sounds vaguely familiar. Those fantasies were supported by real life events because the boys included me in the afternoon neighborhood games whether it was cowboy/Indians or G.I. Joe.When I left the Bobbsey Twins behind I didn’t write again until I was married with children and in my mid-twenties. I completed a paranormal romance and gave it to my spouse to read. After hearing his criticisms I didn’t write again for decades. At the time I didn’t understand that he’s the absolute farthest thing from my audience. It turned out to be a blessing because during that time that I didn’t write, I lived an extremely full life. I traveled a lot, raised a family, got an education (I have an M.A. in Psychology.) and explored my compulsion to be a spiritual seeker. The fantasies were a constant companion throughout. The faces and names of the characters changed as I matured, but they remained a source of comfort. They helped me through hell-raising teenagers and three near-death scares.By the time I started writing again, I had something to say.I write cross-genre with uniquely fresh perspectives on paranormal creatures, characters, and themes. Add a dash of scifi and a flourish of fantasy to enough humor to make you laugh out loud and enough steam to make you squirm in your chair. My heroines are independent femmes with flaws and minds of their own whether they are aliens, witches, demonologists, psychics, or past life therapists. My heroes are hot and hunky, but they also have brains, character, and good manners – usually – whether they be elves, demons, berserkers, werewolves, or vampires. My first book, My Familiar Stranger, was nominated for Best Paranormal Romance of by both Reviewers’ Choice and Readers’ Choice Awards. All of my books have opened on the Amazon Best Sellers list and earned Night Owl Reviews TOP PICK awards. For 2013 I won REVIEWERS' CHOICE awards for Best Paranormal Romance Series, Best Paranormal Romance Novel (General) - A Summoner's Tale, and Best Paranormal Romance Novel (Vampires & Shifters) - Moonlight.I live in The Woodlands, Texas which is why I sometimes joke about being the witch in the woods. Married. Four children. One very smart, mostly black German Shepherd dog.

One of the questions that I'm most often asked is, "What inspired this story?" Or, "How do you create your characters?"

For the first three books I was stumped for answer. The reason why I never knew how to answer these questions is because it doesn't feel like I created a story or characters. It feels like I'm just reporting events, chronicling the lives of certain "people" along with their friends, families, or associates.

Readers tell me they get the sense that the characters and world are so real that you might find them just around the next corner. I love hearing that because it's a reflection of my own perspective. I confess to entertaining the idea that I am reporting, in real time, on a world that is every bit as real as this - in a similar, but alternate dimension.

    My best,
    Victoria

Stalkson Grey is a wonderful character. Although, he is briefly mentioned in a previous book. This book introduces even more riveting characters while delving into the werewolf way of life. This story is dedicated to him and his dying werewolf tribe. His tribe is dying because there are not enough females for the young males to mate with and reproduce to keep a healthy population and Stalkson is desperate to try anything that may save them and help them all find their true mate. The plan to try and save them comes from the strangest of places. Love at first sight? It happens in Victoria's books...but not without plenty of complications to keep the story interesting. The story keeps us up to date with the B Team members I love to hear about and the search for a way to prevent trans-dimensional invasions. We get to see a lot more of Glen ‘s character. With big changes coming up for Jefferson Unit this book opens the way for many more adventures to come. To say i love these books is an understatement!!! Miss Danaan has really created exciting new worlds for us to enjoy. I'm ready for the next one! Too bad this gifted author cannot write as quickly as I can read.

Stalkson Grey was on of my favorite side characters - briefly mentioned in a previous book.  His verbal sparring with Elora is classic and had me chuckling every time.  It was great to see a book with a large portion of the story dedicated to him and his werewolf tribe.  His dying tribe - dying because there are not enough females for the young males to mate with and reproduce to keep a healthy population - are desperate to try anything that may save them and help them all find their true mate.  The plan to save them comes from the strangest of places - but it's a good one.  Stalkson is shocked when along the way he finds a mate of his very own - but he's not sure if he will every be able to have her.  It was so sweet watching the hard ass werewolf fall for someone and get all emotional.

The rest of the story keeps us up to date with the B Team members I love to hear about and the search for a way to prevent trans-dimensional invasions.  We get to see a lot more of Glen, who is also becoming a favorite of mine.  (Is it possible for every character to be my favorite?)  With big changes coming up for Jefferson Unit, there's lots to look forward to in the next book.

Starting with one of the best opening lines....ever...this fourth installment in the Order of the Black Swan series takes up seamlessly from
where the journey last left us, and delivers us into yet another world of truly creative, imaginative fun! Marked by plenty of returns from
many of the characters we loved in the earlier books, this book introduces even more riveting characters while delving into the werewolf
way of life, yet opens the way for many more adventures to come. Love at first sight? It happens in Victoria's books...but not without plenty
of complications to keep the story interesting. I have to say, I laughed aloud plenty of times, and did my best to repeat many of the lines in
an admittedly horrible Irish accent - but it was fun to try! Miss Danaan has really created a fun new world(s) for us to enjoy. At this point, I'm
ready for the next one! Too bad this gifted author cannot write as quickly as I can read.

Another great addition to the Series! Victoria, you've done it again!
So much happened in this book! you just have to read it! Especially if you've already read the other three books to this series.
Glad to see that Stalkson Grey has more than a sour attitude! All he needed was someone to bring it out. Enjoy your read :)

Victoria Danann you are a literary paranamoral romance GENIUS!!!! I have yet to read the fourth installment in this captivating, hilariously funny, breath taking, out of this world (literally) series but I know that I will not be disappointed. I am currently at work and I just finished the 3rd book (my boss probably isn't too thrilled lol) and there is no way possible I can stop now! The charachters are loveable, exciting and unique. The action is enough to keep you on your toes and the romance is enough to make you dream of a love like theirs. I can't wait to see who else will find love, how the happy couples are doing and what chaos will be thrown at them next!

I have been enjoying this series very much. I love this author's view of alternate/parallel worlds. Overall the series is very entertaining and I have laughed a lot at the antics of the characters and the snarky comments. I am anxiously awaiting the next book.

"What is this?" she asked, running her hand over the jacket. "Sheepskin." She looked at him with genuine amusement. "So when you wear this, you're literally a wolf in sheep's clothing."

There are so many "Quotes" I Love in this book. This is one of my favorites. Victoria has pure genius. Her writing just draws you in. I sighed, cried, laughed out loud!!!! I sat on the edge of my seat. I was so entertained. I say Harry Potter look out because The Order of the Black Swan is here!!! I believe these are the books to read.

If you want adventure, suspense, Romance, Action, Dimension travel, Did I mention True Love!!! I have been reading since I was 13 (41 years ago). I have read tens of thousands of books.
I have my favorite Authors. Truthfully Victoria is Now #1.

This book has a diverse set of personalities & characters!
Werewolves, Elves, Fae, Demons, Vampire, Berserkers, Witches, Lets not forget Knights. Hunky Knights at that!

Victoria grabs you from the 1st sentence to the last. I did not want to put it down! I have already read it twice, and no I did not miss anything because it is so gripping you just want to soak up every word!! Since reading this series I do not need Calgon to take me away anymore! Come join me in being a Forever Fan.

Can't wait for the next one!

I love this series, and this author. I read a lot of this genre, and this is one of the best ever. The characters are sympathetic and likeable. The stories hold you enthralled, and are romantic and hot without reading like sex manuals, and... the humor is hysterical!

    Really good series

This series stands out and I am so happy I found it. This series is about a group of friends as they grow up together. Werewolves, vampires, fae, elves, interdimensional travelers, etc are all in there but in this story it's only what they are, not who they are that matters. A lonely king discovers true love and has to decide if it's worth the fight. A young orphaned werewolf is tested and has to prove he can do the job. Warriors face fears they didn't realize they were capable of feeling and have to make tough decisions about freedom. Life as they have known it has changed and they are forced to change too. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good love story and a good laugh at lifes' twists and turns. I can't wait for the next in the series.
