MURDER ON THE MIND is a gripping debut by a skilled author. L.L. Bartlett pulls no punches when it comes to her characters, and ably draws us along to search for the answers right along with Jeff Resnick and his skeptical brother. Both brothers have plenty to learn about each other along the way--and they have to learn fast, because the murderer isn't cutting them any slack. It's a dark-edged story written with concise efficiency--be prepared to discover a fresh new reading experience (and to be glad you did!).

I was hooked before the end of the first chapter of Murder on the Mind. Who is Jeff Resnick and why is he having visions of a deer hunt? Then, after being visciously mugged, he wakes up with more issues than he had while he was just unemployed and down-on-his-luck. His half-brother takes him to Buffalo to recuperate. Here L.L. Bartlett add layers to the mystery surrounding Jeff. However, it wasn't just the visions that I wanted to know about; I wanted to know about the brothers and why they seemed so estranged. Where was the rest of Jeff's family? I wanted to know about Richard, the half-brother and Brenda, his girlfriend. Jeff seems to know as little about Richard as he does himself. Bartlett manages to weave a great mystery with equally great characterizations. Every page turned takes you deeper into the visions that Jeff has, the murder(s) and his strained relationships. When I finished 'Murder on the Mind' I wanted more. I anxiously await more Jeff Resnick mysteries.

Jeff Resnick of "Murder on the Mind" is a much more complex character than meets the eye when we first meet him - and he does not particularly want to be a complicated guy. Quite the opposite. But his discovery of how his life changed following a mugging, the graphic images of a murder that keep flashing through his head, and attempting to rebuild his personal life following a life-changing head injury make for a fascinating plot with lots of action. Here's hoping that there will be more Jeff Resnick stories in the future!

Murder on the MInd has what I like in a mystery -- strong characters, driven plot and a paranormal twist. I look forward to Jeff's next adventure.

I grew up with Ellery Queen (Dannay and Lee), Mike Hammer (Mickey Spillane) and The Hardy Boys (Franklin W. Dixon-ghost writer) in the whodunit styles. L. L. Bartlett's series is more than whodunit. The series adds beatemup, shootemup and bangemup. With Bartlett's books, I find it hard to find a stopping place.

It didn't take but a few pages until I was completely wrapped up in Jeff's unusual new ability and where it was going to take him. The banter between he and his half brother added a real sense of normalcy to the life of a man who was experiencing anything but normal dreams and visions. I would highly recommend this Jeff Resnick mystery and after reading this free eBook, I have gone on to read several more in the series as well as a couple of short stories which include Jeff in them as well.

This book was truly an amazing read. Once I started I could not put the book down! There are only a few books that can do that to me. Nonetheless, I am so excited that she continued with a series. Looking forward to more reads from this great author. :)

Very good book! I liked the idea of the story line and I'm looking forward to what Mr. Resnick "sees" next! I hope the old lady in the bakery is in the next one too! That was a nice add in.
I do wish there was a way to convert these books better! The typeface change is a bit annoying.

This book is amazing, I was skeptical at first but within the first few pages I was sucked in. It's written very skillfully and I can't wait to see if it continues into a series. I would recommend this book to anyone of any age who wants a good mystery book.
