Mobashar Qureshi is an author that has fast become one of my fav

Mobashar Qureshi is an author that has fast become one of my favorites. Every story has been different to the extreme but every one of them have been thoroughly readable and this one is no exception. Excellent Sci-fi / Thriller that I finished at work in about 3 hours (Don't tell my boss). Detective Sam Banter and her partner Detective Bashi are trying to solve a cold case of a murdered child that is pointing towards officer misconduct. After meeting Clarence at the mental hospital that the childs mother ended up in and Sam meets him and he tells her things he couldn't possible know, she listens. Hard to put down and an excellent way to spend an afternoon in the sun. I would also love to read a sequel.

    Fast paced read

    Review of The Paperboys Club
Overall I thought the book was great. The main characters work well in the story, but I felt as we were missing some key points about specific characters such as Sam and Clarence. I felt as though the author became too detailed on specific points such as vehicles driven by Sam and her partner. I think this may have worked better as part two of a series. The story line was very good and he kept the reader's attention. If he was trying to reach out into the police mystery area he needs to be a little more realistic as any law enforcement officer would take some offense to promotion just by solving a case. This was a key part of the book but it left a lot to be desired as well. In closing the author did a great job on the book but I feel he could work on some things.

    more from this reviewer

    great read

Really great read!! The description sounded interesting, but I wasn't sure what to expect so I was quite pleasantly surprised! I really liked all the main characters.even ones I wasn't sure were 'good' or 'bad'. I just knew I wanted to know more and couldn't stop reading until I found out!! Sam is written wonderfully as a single mother of a smart young girl, Maryann. Sam is unsure of how to handle her at times, like most parents . at the same time she's this kick-butt detective with an awesome partner, in a pretty male driven line of work, doing the best job she can, always feeling like she's coming up short either as a mother, a detective, or both. It feels at first like it's a bit all over the place with a lot going on but it's all pulled together so well when. I find it difficult to say much without saying too much!! I'm obviously not a writer! The worst part, as usual in any good book, was realizing it was coming to an end! I wanted to know more about the things happening to these people, adults and children. How and why it stared, how and why it changed and how are they going to deal with those changes?? If there isn't another book I hope one day there will be because I really enjoyed learning the in's and out's of these peoples lives and I'd love to see how the rest of the story unfolds!!!

Sam is stuck and her leads are getting her nowhere. Until a chance meeting with Clarence gives her some hope. A good book, fast read...highly recommended.

    Very good read...holds your attention

A well written mystery with just the right dash of paranormal. Characters of different ages you will care about. I put off reading this because of the title and urge you not to make my mistake.

    Good book, I recommend it

This book is different, unexpected. I was not sure what was going on some of the time, but the characters were well developed and the relationships felt real. I would recommend it.

    just ok

I just finished reading the Paperboys club. I found it a slow read. Very predictable. I felt it could have been wrapped up more at the end. It did not make you feel anything for the characters.

Do not encourage writers who use murder of child as a theme

This encourages children in danger as a part of mysteries and increases in future series in grafic details. Even well know authors have increased in using these themes. This should be unexceptable except for those who enjoy grafic violence and sex in books. There is no literary value.......
