Overview

Samuel Clearwater, A.K.A Preppy, likes bowties, pancakes, suspenders, good friends, good times, good drugs, and a good f*ck.

He’s worked his way out from beneath a hellish childhood and is living the life he’s always imagined for himself. When he meets a girl, a junkie on the verge of ending it all, he’s torn between his feelings for her and the crippling fear that she could be the one to end the life he loves.

Andrea ‘Dre’ Capulet is strung out and tired.

Tired of living for her next fix. Tired of doing things that make her stomach turn. Tired of looking in the mirror at the reflection of the person she’s become. Just when she decides to end it all, she meets a man who will change the course of both their lives forever.

And their deaths.

For most people, death is the end of their story.
For Preppy and Dre, death was only the beginning.

This is book 5 in the KING series and it is highly recomended that you read the previous four books to best enjoy Preppy's story.

I'm Samuel Clearwater but my Friends call me Preppy. That's all it takes and you're hooked. Page after page this mysterious ,sexy twisted character I fell hard for in King is showing us his secrets. It's quite a path we are on . We meet Andrea , Dre aka Doc and she's a feisty thing with a darkness she is fighting. "He was an addiction. I craved him, and I wanted more ." I laughed its Preppy of course you laugh, but it's so much more be prepared for a deeper look into his world his mind his past. I loved it I can't wait for more!

I have, to be honest, I was worried about how this book would turn out. After the crazy twist at the end of Soulless, I wasn’t sure that the author could pull off a believable story about a character who we all thought dead. I was pleasantly surprised! I was never on team Preppy from when we first met him in King I thought of him as a clown with a really messed up life. He was crazy and he kind of scared me a little. I certainly didn’t think of him as some smart mouth suspenders-wearing Alpha male that everyone seemed to love. I gotta say this book Samuel Clearwater’s story - has placed me firmly on TEAM PREPPY and I am rooting for him to get his HEA with the girl he loves. T.M. Frasier did a fantastic job of making me love this quirky and just plain weird character. He really is a weirdo but a sexy weirdo. In book one we learn more about who Preppy is where he came from and where he wants to go. His relationship with his friends and the grandmother in his little pot operation is not like anything I would have expected. I loved how TM told this story before the chaos so that we could get to know Preppy and Andrea ‘Dre’ as they spent time together. Dre’s life has been a difficult one as well and just when she decides she’s had enough out of this life she’s saved by an unlikely hero. Dre and Preppy turn out to be the perfect match for each other. I found myself glued to their story getting addicted to the roller coaster ride of emotions. Of course, T.M. could not help herself at the end of this one we get a big old cliffhanger. So I decided to wait until the rest of the series comes out and read all at once. My heart can’t take waiting. You should read the other books in the King series to enjoy this story.

4.5 Bow Tie Till I Die Stars!! “I never knew true fear until I met pure evil. He wore a smile and a bow tie.” “I wanted to see her sad. Taste her tears. I wanted to what she sounded like when she cried. In pain, in pleasure, in both.” “He molded his lips to mine, and I know he was giving me everything he had in that kiss because I felt it all. His frustration, his sadness, his hurt, his desire, his anger, his confusion, but there was something else there. Something stronger. More powerful. More everything. Above all else, I felt his love. He’d said he couldn’t keep me. That didn’t mean I wouldn’t always be his.” Preppy. Preppy. Preppy. How I have been waiting for your story. You were one of my most beloved characters in the King Series, and I have been waiting with baited breath to hear your story….And boy, you did not disappoint. From the moment you introduced yourself as Samuel Clearwater with those suspenders and your signature bow tie, I was hooked. I wanted to know more about this sick, complex and twisted individual. As you can only imagine, Preppy’s story is anything but hearts and flowers. It is dark, complex and haunting. As his story is told, you finally get to see who this man is and why he is the way that he is. He isn’t perfect, but loves and cares about those who he holds dear, the best way that he can. He meets his match in an equally confused and messed up person, Andrea (Dre). The two of them fighting and holding on as best as they can. Their story is compelling and intriguing; one that I found impossible to put down. Preppy: The Life & Death of Samuel Clearwater took me on one crazy, intense and thrilling ride. There were twists and turns that I never saw coming and the ending will leave your heart racing and dying for more….

Review: PREPPY: The Life & Death of Samuel Clearwater (King Series Book 5) by T.M. Frazier Publication Date: October 25, 2016 Genre: Dark Contemporary Romance Reviewed by: Reading in Pajamas/ Cori Rated: 4 Stars I fell more in love with Preppy while reading his story. He's always been my favorite and I couldn't wait to read this one. If you're new to the King Series, it needs to be read in order. Each character has 2 books and they follow a series storyline that has to be read in order. You can grab books 1-4 in a bundle before picking up this new release. Preppy is book 5 in the King Series and part 1 in Preppy and Dre's two part story. This series is pretty dark and has a lot of violence so be sure to read the book descriptions before picking it up. It's not for everyone. I really love it though. The storyline and dynamic characters drew me into this world T.M. Frazier created. I was emotional mess reading this one. It's dark and violent but also beautiful. I can't wait for part two! I recommend this series for dark romance lovers. This is a good one! *Review copy provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

WARNING DO NOT READ THIS BOOK IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE REST OF THE KING SERIES! I have been in love with Preppy ever since him and his bow-tie appeared in King. He is one unique specimen of a man that captured my heart with his witty commentary and lewd behavior. I was so excited when TM Frazier brought him back at the end of Soulless with those famous words. Hello MFs. In this book we get to see Preppy starting about 2 years before King all the way to after Soulless. I dove right in and didn't stop laughing and crying till the end. We get to see how he started with his famous pancakes. The readers also got to see a somewhat softer (as much as Preppy can be soft) side of him with his dealings with Dre. I loved how these two characters seemed to fit so well together and were able to fill a piece of the others soul. I can't wait to see what else is in store in the next Parts.

So...there once was a book called King from this author that I'd never heard of. By the time I'd heard about T.M. Frazier, Tyrant had already been released on audio. I decided to get both King and Tyrant on audio and ended up devouring them in a little over a day. From then on, I've been a HUGE fan of anything she writes. So of course I was eagerly awaiting Preppy's books and with the release of part 1, I was not disappointed. Samuel "Preppy" Clearwater and Andrea "Dre" Capulet's beginning is wild, crazy, dangerous, hot, and I could go on. Preppy manages to help Dre through some dark stuff and with his own way of looking at life (which means it was messed up sometimes) and Dre ended up being there for Preppy when he has a run in from his past. The way these two function with each other might seem totally messed up to most people, but they just work so well together. I honestly think of two puzzle pieces fitting together when I think of them. Of course it's dark and twisted at times but T.M. Frazier has managed to not only make these characters very loveable but also makes you root for them. I can honestly say that I was on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading this. You just never know what's going to happen in one of these books. That is what is so fantastic! You get sucked into this dark and twisted world with these depraved and seriously screwed up people but the way they handle it and how they care for friends and those they consider family is powerful. They might go about it differently than most, but they love hard. This had that fantastically witty banter that I love, some seriously hot sex scenes, just enough drama, and that little twist that T.M. Frazier is so good at dishing out. Part 2 can't come soon enough! 5 out of 5 stars!!!

Preppy was intense and complicated - full of surprises. Preppy was Preppy- funny, protective and hard as nails. Always doing the unexpected - he is loyal to a fault and nothing stands in the way of what he wants or his friends need. Everyone needs a Preppy in their life. Dre is troubled and in need of a friend- someone to help her and protect her from herself. Loved Preppy the book and the character. Great job- TM Frazier... I can not wait for the second part to Preppy's story.

The awesome T.M. Frazier has done it again! Preppy Part One once again delivers the drama and suspense with a little bit of humor thrown in, that I've come to rely on from this author! I very strongly advise reading these books in order starting with King, although I guess it's possible to read Preppy's story as a standalone. I just think the reader should really be familiar with all the secondary characters as well as the background we already know about Preppy. This book tells the story of Preppy and Dre, at least part of their story. The alternating POV really helps the reader to get in the mindset of each character and feel as though they're part of the action. Dre is an interesting girl and I really enjoyed getting to know her. She brought out a lot of emotions in me while I was reading, and Preppy is, well, Preppy. While he's never been my favorite of TM Frazier's characters, I have always loved his personality and I definitely enjoyed learning more about his upbringing and what makes him the way he is. He's a sick individual with a crazy sense of humor but he's got a good heart underneath it all. Preppy and Dre's story is filled with hotness, the scenes are scorching. Together they are powerful, intense and emotional. And yes there's a cliff at the end because really, would it be a T.M. Frazier book any other way? I can't wait to see what comes next for Preppy and Dre and can only hope it's the HEA they so deserve.

I've just sat and read a book with a smile of my face, not because it was comedy but because its Preppy and some of his one liners and comments made me laugh out loud. Like I've said,it wasn't an actually comedy it was just Preppy's way and you never know if he's joking our not. Twisted, depraved, pancake loving, suspender wearing good looking man - evil comes in all forms even when wearing a bow tie. Dre is looking to end it all,she is fed up with the direction her life is taking until she's saved by none other than Samuel Clearwater, Preppy can't figure why he saved Dre, but she has him intrigued and he can't help but be drawn to her. In around about way while Preppy is saving Dre, Dre is also saving Preppy, but nothing is straight forward for the bow tie wearing Preppy, who would do anything for his friends and the ones he loves, so for him he can't keep Dre when when she want him too,no matter what she tells herself. So for these two "death is the end of their story. For Preppy and Dre it was only the beginning." The book also dealt with serious subjects that made the struggle more real and brought out all the feelings too, but the lighter notes gave it that balance because again,it's Preppy. Mrs Frazier knows how to keep you in suspense all the way through with what is going to happen and that ending was unexpected, but I highly recommend reading the rest of the series first as if not you'll probably be wondering what's happening. I love Dre and Preppy together and it made you love the unhinged bad boy even more, even his softer sides, and Dre was all kinds of good for him, I can't wait for the next part,Bravo TM Frazier you have done it again, Preppy is the best bad a**ed motherf****r!

To say I couldn't wait for this book is an understatement! Ever since preppy's smart alec mouth and dark sense of humor popped up in King I wanted to know more and more about him. T.M. Frazier did not disappoint! Preppy was every bit of the wild and crazy ride I knew it would be. I will say that I think that Andrea (Dre/Doc) was a great match up with Preppy, she was just enough messed up to keep up with his ups and downs but she was still very smart and witty. Preppy was an emotional roller coaster just like all of T.M.'s books but this one really pulled at my heart strings, although we knew what had happened to preppy as a kid from the little bit told in King, it all came to light in this book when he tells Dre about his past and then again when someone from his past shows up to try to make amends with him. I don't really know what to expect from here on out but I can tell you that I can't wait for the next book in the series to see where things go from where they left off. This book was amazing T.M. Frazier and I hope that we get to see more of Mirna in this next book to see how she is doing. Thank you for being such an amazing writer!

With true evil ginger fashion TM has left me with my mouth gasping….but it is a great gasping because I knew going in that this was a two parter and I am so dying to see where it goes. We had glimpses of Preppy in the other books then he was gone, presumed dead. He is a great fun character with a dark and deadly side. Strange combination, yes, but it works and oh my wow will he make you squirm in your seat. Moving, gripping and addictive. Samuel will capture your attention and leave you wanting. “I never knew true fear until I met pure evil. He wore a smile and a bow tie.” She’s a broken junkie set on destruction, more than what she has already experience but the man with the shadow in his eyes is the one that may be left in the dust. This man on the cover is the perfect representation of the Preppy in my mind. YUM! He is full of charisma but will shoot you dead in the blink of an eye. “I knew right then what I had seen would be burned into my brain and haunt me forever. A wicked smile, a bow tie...and a gun. This book will grip you by the short and curly and not let you go until the end…then when you get there…you will want your next fix…your next hit…you will need to feed the monster.
