Overview

On the planet Barious, war has become a national pass time. During one of these conflicts Taralin Zarco, Queen of Barious, was abducted by the Barion's mortal enemies the Locheds. When the story starts the war has ended, the Barions have won and the queen has just been found on a distant planet.

Enter Drewcilia Qwah, a rough-and-tumble salvager, who drinks too much, smokes too much, and has a mouth you wouldn't kiss your mother with. Drewcilia (Drew) and her partner, a huge hair-covered alien named Van Gar, have been hired by the king's emissaries to take the confused queen to meet her husband. Only two real problems with this plan. Drewcilia hates royalty, and the queen has no memory of being queen or of her husband. Meet a strange world filled with palace intrigue, rebel plots, assassination attempts, civil unrest, economic depression, trash, and the unscrupulous salvager who wants to change it all to suit her own needs.

Queen of Denial is a book with one mission, to entertain. It is a fast-paced, hard-hitting, action-packed, science fiction comedy, with a little mystery thrown in for good measure. Ms. Rosen believes in researching her work in every detail. Queen of Denial is the end product of a lifetime of drinking, working in the trash collection business, and getting into fistfights over petty crap.

Sci-Fi gets NO BETTER than this!

The planet of Barious had finished a long war. Five years previously, during one of the conflicts, Taralin Zarco, Queen of Barious, was abducted by the Barion's mortal enemies the Locheds. The Locheds used Taralin as a test subject in their labs. After five years of captivity off planet Taralin no longer had any memories of being Queen of Barious. With the war over, King Zarco sent for his wife to return. ................ Drewcilia 'Drew' Qwah was the best salvager in the galaxy. She drank too much, smoked too much, and had a mouth that would make a sailor blush! Her partner, Van Gar, was a huge hair covered alien. They were hired to escort the confused queen back to her husband. No matter how much Drew hated royalty, it was a lot of beer money for a SIMPLE escort job. ................ ***** This story is down-right edible! I felt as though Drew was a female Han Solo since her morals seem to be the same and her partner looks much like a Wookie. No nonsense, beer guzzling, hilarious, and NOT TO BE MISSED! I loved every second! *****

    Irreverence at its best!

Absolutely loved it! Pure fun and comedy coupled with page turning desire to know what happens next. This book is fantastic! So if you're looking to spend an afternoon giggling outloud while your family looks at you strange, GET THIS BOOK! Don't think! Just go and get it! You won't regret it. Keeping fingers crossed and begging all gods above and below (pleeeze oh pleeeze oh pleeeze Ms. Rosen) that more is in the offing.

    Whoopee!!!

Shoot the Moon! Go for it! It's such a page turner that you'd better block out some time to read it. Ibuprofen or Aspirin is also recommended for side stitches.

Duh! Fun is what it's all about!!!

This is a fantastic book! It's a fall down laugh your hiney off riot! Gonzo science fiction adventure at its best. I guess the LOCUS people just didn't get it. Plausible? Why the heck would we want it to be plausible. Are the Myth books plausible? What about Bill the Galactic Hero? This is comedy and adventure, people. Lighten up, have a beer, and ENJOY yourself. I dearly hope we see more of this world and character. This is dying to be made into a series. Thumbs up all the way!
