This book starts out right at the cliffhanger that Survivor book one ended at. Maddie hurt and broken trying to decide between her parents and Rayn. This is a book fraught with emotional turmoil, and danger. Each character goes through major growth and changes in this book. Maddie finds out so much about herself through out this book she goes through growth and change, finds out an interesting mystery about her family tree, and pushes herself physically and mentally during the whole of this book. There is a lot more action going on in this book than in the first more plot twists, and more characters to meet and interact with. I really enjoyed this book and getting to know the characters more in-depth. If you enjoyed Survivor you will really enjoy the sequel Resurrection, I highly recommend that you pick up this book and read it. The Author's writing style is more put together and she's doing more showing than telling this time around, which is great I'd rather have the words used to paint a picture for me than a manual.
This was a free book given to me by the author for a fair review. Thank's for the book I really enjoyed it.

This story picks up from the monster of a cliff-hanger from the first book. I couldn't wait to pick it up and see where these characters would go. I was pleased to watch them grow and change. It was fun to watch. Maggie goes from a clumsy walking disaster (but a nice one!) to woman who can take care of herself. It was sad to watch her do it alone, but like most things in life it was necessary. She needed to take charge of her life and grow up, and it was really nice to see. The funny moments had me laughing out loud, and the sad moments had me tearing up. It was heart-breaking in places. It was great to feel so connected to the characters that you can feel their sorrow leaping off the page. It was well done. I can't wait to see where the series goes from here.

A.M. Hargrove has written another gem. There is a lot more going on in Resurrection, the second book in the Guardians of Vesturon series. The characters have matured and the focus is not only on Maddie and Ryan. You get to learn more about the planet Vesturon, described in rich detail. A superb read, fast-paced, with sub-plots that combine well and a flowing story line. If you are looking for a solid adventure and lots of action, look no further. I am anxiously hoping for the third book in the series and wish to read more about the stories behind Rayn's family.

Resurrection, the continuing saga of Survival continues with Maddie and Rayn's journey into a new life in a new world together. I am impressed with the author's development of the story and the way the characters all came together to make for a fun and interesting read.

After I finished Survival, I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one. And it was SO worth it. This book was freaking awesome. It made me want to visit Vesturon! I loved the way the book turned down a different path than what I thought. Without giving anything away, Maddie is surprising in this one. She matures and turns out to be a young woman with unexpected strength totally able to take care of herself. I can't say much more than that, but the story is just awesome. You must read this!!! The writing is great and there is conflict that surprises the reader. Can I just say go buy this book today? You won't regret it. What a bargain to get two great books--Survival (FREE!!!!) and Resurrection--for only 2.99!!!! I can't wait for Hargrove's next book!!!!

What a great follow up to Survival! Again, I couldn't tear myself away from Maddie and Rayn. It was great to witness Maddie's triumph in her trials. The entire group of Rayn's siblings intrigues me and I can't wait for the next book in the series. I hope that they each eventually get their stories told. I'm especially looking forward to Shar's, she's hilarious!
Awesome, fast paced with lots of action that kept my interest. As in the first book, the characters were strongly written. I must say it was also great to read a book that is written the way these are. I like that the author doesn't "dumb things down" for lack of a better way to put it. There were lessons to be learned through the experiences of Maddie and Rayn. However, the writing style is such that you don't realize the moral side of things until you complete the book and reflect on what you've read.
I would recommend this series to anyone who is looking for an adventure with intelligent, charasmatic characters. HUGE thank you to Ms. Hargrove for sharing her work!!

This is the second installment in the Guardian series. This series is absolutely amazing. It has a riveting & unique storyline and is one of the better series books that I have read. "Survival" is the first installment and "Beginnings" is the prequel for this series. I highly recommend this series!!

Resurrection is the second book of The Guardians of Vesturon series. I actually enjoyed the second book in this series even more than the first. The development of the story and the characters came together well, and I loved the progression of the story.
Resurrection picked up right where the first book, Survival, left off. Maddie was seriously injured and needed immediate help. The only way to help her and keep her alive was to break all the rules (again) and bring her to Vesturon to be healed.
I love the world building in this story, as we got to see more about Rayn's home, Vesturon. The author did a great job creating this world for us and describing it in such a way that it could really be a real place. I also love the descriptiveness of the book overall.
I love the character development from the first book to the second. The characters we were introduced to and loved in Survival are back again. I love that we got to watch them grow and mature as they go through their struggles and learn more about themselves. I really liked reading about the romance between Rayn and Maddie. It was not forced or rushed, and you could feel the connection between them.
Resurrection has plenty of action to keep you entertained and enough mystery to keep you reading to find out what happens next!

For two star-crossed lovers, two soul mates Madeline “Maddie” Pearce and Rayn Yarrister life is looking pretty bleak. Rayn is imprisoned for breaking a scarred covenant of Vesturon and since he happens to be the first born son to the Vesturon’s leader, things really couldn’t look grimmer. That is until the remaining Yarrister children, with the help of Maddie, decide the time has come to fight for love, a new future and maybe a few changes to the old ways. Unbeknownst to them all, this is only the beginning and destiny has so much more in store.
After finishing Survival, written by A.M.Hargrove, even with all of its issues, bumps and blips along the way; I found myself invested, invested with Maddie Pearce and Rayn Yarrister, invested with as much of the Yarrister family that had been introduced thus far. I had fallen in love with Maddie’s quirks and couldn’t for the life of me figure out how she and Rayn would get past it all. But that’s just it, I wanted to know. So issues, blips, or bumps along the way or not, I picked up Resurrection and jumped right in.
I jumped right in and started reading and I found myself pleasantly surprised.
The reoccurring flashbacks that were and an issue in Survival? Gone. The Point-of-View jumping from character to character? That’s not entirely gone but it is handled in a much gentler manner. I can’t tell you how freeing it was to see, or not see for that matter, that these two major issues were gone like a bad dream. Without these two blips, speed bumps in the road if you will, it allows Resurrection to have the space it needs to open up – both in character depth and description of location and plot.
I won’t give away any spoilers, that’s not my style, but I will tell you this. I connected with the characters of Resurrection in a way that I wasn’t able to connect with them in Survival. It didn’t matter what type of emotionally charged situation any of them were going through, I felt as if I were there sharing that time with them. All of A.M.’s characters became a bit more 3-Dimensenial in Resurrection.
The characters weren’t the only thing to become more 3-Dimensenial. A.M.’s decsriptions of Vesturon were beautiful and detailed. I could feel Maddie’s reactions to Vesturon – the good, the bad, the indifferent. It was wonderful. It felt as if I were there with her; experiencing everything through her eyes and various, other senses for the first time.
My only qualm about the book is when the differences between how things are done one Earth and how things are done on Vesturon are explained. Rather than continuing on the journey and exploration that Maddie has already begun, it feels cold and mechanical. Almost as if A.M. was looking for a way in which to take up space and fill up time. So something that could have been very curious and full of wonder for both Maddie and the reader had turned cold and clinical.
That aside, I believe Resurrection to be a fantastic journey where many of the loose-ends from Survival are neatly tied up. And a few new ends are left dangling, leaving the reader to wonder, “Where will we go from here”?
(This book was given to me by the author to read and review.)

Truly fell in love with this series. Picked up Book 1 because it was a free read and instantly became enchanted with the characters. Immediately following the 1st novel I did not hesitate a moment in getting this one. Following the main character, Maddie, on her journey in finding herself and growing from a young lady into a mature, independent, woman was quite fascinating. All of this plus some literally out of this world adventures makes this series truly fun to read. I can't wait for the next installment.

Overview
"Maddie knew she was dying. Her life started to flash before her. She had visions of running down the soccer field, scoring a goal, eating her mother’s yummy, homemade, sticky cinnamon rolls, standing in her foyer listening to the police tell her father that her mother had been killed in a car accident. Each vision was disturbingly clear—as if it was happening again."Rayn Yarrister, the first-born son and Leader of The Guardians, has been imprisoned on Vesturon for breaking their most sacred of covenants. He is suddenly jolted by Maddie's telepathic pleas for help, as her life hangs in the balance. Can he alert The Guardians in time to save his ...
