This may be a wonderful tale but I just didn't care for the storyline. I got bored with the lessons on time and gave up after only about 30 pages. Just not my knd of story.

I came across this story when trying to find books to improve my Spanish, but I fell for this story since 2012. However I saw that there was errors with the grammar which I thought was weird... But then I learned that this was self-published and likely, the writer didn't have a editor to help. So I trusted that he would fix everything eventually.
But after waiting up to last week, I saw that the author had fixed everything (from what I could see) and it allowed me give this review:
Very creative and DIFFERENT from most fantasies. I like Ruiz's care for Sofia like a big brother. I am not clear on how Ruiz's weapon looks like however...it bothered me somewhat but I let go. I suddenly became more interested in latin american culture after seeing the references done. He did it differently and he did it well.
I have a feeling that there will be another book in this series and I look forward to more.
Thanks for a great read!

I loved this story but what happened to the grammer? I find it VERY hard to believe that this creative story would have grammar issues when so much work was done!
I hope that the writer finds out about this and fixes it...
Anyways I DID enjoy the story that much. Very creative and I saw magic in ways that I never expected. I thank the author for the character Luna. She is quite the interesting female character and somewhat of a role model fighting the helpless female stereotype in a strong indepenent woman.
So I am not strict in grammar but that was what kept this story from perfect...
4/5 stars.

Really good story ideas but the horrible grammer and editing took alot away from the read.

Not as good as lord of the rings or the fire and ice series but I enjoyed it.

This was a great read. The writer did an splendid job of adding in hispanic culture and mythology. Definitely worth the money for something so unique... It's not just another adventure novel.

The author was promoting this at supercon 2012 in FL and I must say: I
am happy that he convinced to buy this via ebook, particular in Nook
format. Ruiz 's character was honest and entertaining and I LOVED the
character Tadeo as my favorite. The author mentioned that he would be
creating a sequel by the holiday season of 2012 and I am looking forward
to it!
