Overview

Sometimes I'm Bigger Than My Big Brother is about a little girl named Samantha who is growing up in the shadow of an older brother with both Autism and Epilepsy. She must learn that although she is younger than him and shorter than him he still looks to her for guidance even though she is only four.

Samantha courageously faces the very scary seizures and bravely tells them to go away. She dances, sings and hugs away his anger when he is frustrated and tickles him with butterfly kisses when he is sad.

Samantha learns what it means to be a BIG little sister and share her experiences with the reader so that they will understand what it is like having a big brother who isn't really BIG at all.

About the Author

Billie Ann Doner is the mother of two children, a grown son with special needs and a neurotypical daughter who is just moving out on her own. Billie is a registered nurse who worked in critical care and home health before becoming a full-time caregiver to her son. When she can, when her son's health permits, she works for her family's manufacturing business, Samco Polishing Inc., as the Safety Officer/Industrial Nurse teaching safety classes and keeping up with OSHA standards.

Billie loves to write poetry when the mood strikes, and her poem JUST BEYOND REACH has been published in two books and numerous newsletters/publications.

Way too wordy for Twitter, Billie has taken her Facebook posts to the extreme, length that is, and is now venturing into the world of self-publishing. She recently published her first book, Bun-Bun's Big Adventure.

Billie's son Casey, born in 1986 with Autism and a severe form of Epilepsy, is the inspiration for her Facebook blog, CONVERSATIONS WITH CASEY, where she writes insightful, humorous, and often inspiring stories about life with Casey. Billie finds joyful moments in even the most mundane of tasks and shares those moments through photos, videos, and her Conversations with Casey.
