Meet the Author

Born and raised in Miami, Kelli Jean traded the tropical heat for the arctic. Now she deals with twenty-four-hour daylight in the summer, zero sunlight in the winter, and believes the Northern Lights make up for the mind-boggling amount of ice and snow she has to put up with for seven months out of the year. She's surrounded by mountains and ocean and sheep, and claims her bizarre sense of humor is what keeps her sane.
The insane don't know they're insane.
Kelli uses her imagination to create worlds she can escape to from the mundane tasks of everyday life, such as washing the damn dishes and vacuuming up Legos off the floor-and don't get her started on the mad amount of cat hair on the end of the couch. She gave up on that a long time ago. When the household goes to sleep at night, she writes down everything that happened in her head while doing such tedious chores. But she enjoys living in her own head, so that's pretty cool.
Technology terrifies her. She can barely turn on a computer, and was completely shocked when she'd actually written a book on one. To this day, she has no explanation for this baffling mystery. It took her three years to realize she can take screen shots of messages and pictures of bearded, tattooed men with her phone. Now that she's mastered this task, her phone is slowly dying, and she's nervous that she's going to have to buy a new one and it will take her another three years to learn how to use it.

4 stars. This book has left me speechless. (And craving more!) Uhmmm yeah, the deliciously bearded Oliver Fairfax. Just the description of him with his hair and beard all done and the frickin' suspenders on... Talk about creaming your panties. The main thing in this story is the love between Xanthe and Ollie but there's also this other story developing around it that was so interesting that I had to keep reading. Even when less important things like feeding the kids or doing my homework, came up. And though this is a standalone, not everything comes to light in this book but will be told in the next couple of books. I'm totally guessing here but I think it's going to be another book in this series but about a different couple. All I'll say is - You NEED to read this book. It's extremely well written (and did I mention the bearded hotness of Ollie??)... Do it!!

It's no secret that I love stories where one of the main characters is an author. And this one was fantastic! This is my first Kelli Jean novel, but I have no doubt I will be back for more from her. Not only do Xanthe and Oliver have some hot, hot, HOT chemistry, their relationship goes so much deeper than that. There are some truly beautiful moments in this story, and I definitely shed a few tears. I also laughed out loud, gasped, and squealed on many occasions, hoping to high Heaven I didn't wake up my flatmates! I was so engrossed in Xanthe and Oliver's story that I stayed up ALL. NIGHT. to finish it. The secondary characters are phenomenal as well. As much as I love Xanthe and Ollie, this story would not be what it is without Great-Aunt Ellen, Jamie, Ricki, Ronan, Lilla, Rex, Trey, Mama, David...the list goes on and on. Of course there are also a few secondary characters, who shall remain nameless, *cough*Gabriella*cough* that you will LOVE to HATE. Oh, and that plot twist? YIKES! I'm definitely going to need some more of this group's story!

5 out of 5 stars Oh my gosh! This book was such an amazing read. I laughed. I cried. I shouted. I softly whispered. I wanted more when it was over, but I was happy with where it went. Everything about this book was perfect for me and I can’t wait to discover more from this author!!! Xanthe and Ollie are perfectly written in a way to make you fall completely in love with both of them. The craziness of their meeting and the way their relationship develops and dwindles and reconnects is written so well that I couldn’t help but keep reading. I never wanted to sleep or face my real life because I so wanted to stay in their little world with them. I was mad at Xanthe in the beginning when she refused to tell him the truth about who she was, but a little piece of me understood. I was mad at Ollie for how he reacted when he learned the truth...and Ms Jean did a fabulous job of writing the different points of view and spacing them so our emotions as a reader were pretty well in tune with the characters and we didn’t know much more than they did as we were reading. I really wish we could have had a little more on Ollie’s project and her reaction to it, but overall the book was fantastic...suspense, love, fun, pain, it’s all in there plus so much more. This book is definitely going to make my top list for this year.
