In the first of an exciting new series, hotshot covert agent Cleo Matts goes to war against an international cabal of the influential elite.

While working desperately to thwart the assassination of a highbrowed microbiologist, Matts runs into scorned Hollywood actress Julia McMichaels. Romantic sparks fly, but there's a bomb on the plane, aliens outside their window, and a CIA hitman in seat 13-C.

Though they manage to survive the doomed flight, little does Matts know he's at ground zero of a germ-warfare conspiracy approved by the President of the US.

From the back streets of New Orleans and the corridors of NASA to the super yacht of a gigolo Saudi prince and a showdown in a raging ice storm, the laughs, chases, and shoot-outs come fast and furious in this balls-to-the-wall espionage action thriller.

    You'll love this book!

Cleo's job was to protect the man in the seat in front of him. Simple enough. All he had to do was foil the attempt of the CIA to blow up the plane. Which turns out to be anything but simple. Aliens, CIA cleaners and assassins, and one of the most famous actresses in the nation seem to be conspiring to make his covert operation as complicated as possible.
Government conspiracy at its best, Joe Crubaugh creates an all too possible world in Terminal Departure. A world where some of the most powerful governments on the planet are controlled by a secret international association made up of the world's elite. On top of that, alien watchers really do abduct people and the deaths of a couple of hundred innocent people are justified by the need to control the populace. With keep you on the edge of your seat action, this book will have even the most unbelieving readers turning the pages to see what happens next.
Written with the spirit of Christopher Buckley over his shoulder, Joe Crubaugh knows how to spin a tale of political satire. The main characters are quirky but entertaining. The secondary characters are sometimes frightening but definitely interesting. All in all, this was a great read. I thank the author for providing me with a review copy and I give the book five stars.

    Finally something different.

Something truly original and laugh out loud funny. This is an impressive debut. Normally i get bored with descriptive sentences, but Crubaugh's are so pointed and witty I actually read them. Won't find me doing that with a King or Rice novel.

Being a self-published novel, let me vouch for the editing, I didn't notice any blatant typos, spello's or grammatical errors. The prose flows well and the plot is tight. The dialogue is where he really lets loose. The conversations between the characters are at the same time, funny, informative, and never banal. They are also believable.

The characters delivering these witticisms are multidimensional. They do follow some standard archetypes: the plucky hero, the movie starlet, the CIA bagman, the airline pilot, but each is uniquely crafted and has their own voice and personality.

The only flaw I could find, and in this I am in agreement with another reviewer, was that the action scenes, particularly towards the end were a bit choppy. Not devastatingly so, but enough to notice. All authors have their strengths and weaknesses. This author's strengths in humor and storytelling, far outweigh some minor stutters in the action that are easily read over.

I look forward to the next installment of this series and hope for more alien, CIA, and presidential mischief.

    A Wild and Crazy ride!

Terminal Departure is a wild ride through a twisted and unique cast of characters. If you love aliens, CIA, Super secret CIA and complete madness then this is the book for you.
Cleo Matts, secret agent or complete lunatic? Hollywood starlet Julia will have to decide quickly after a series of events lead to Cleo breaking her husband's nose then threatening to blow up the plane they are all riding in.
Well written and full of action and adventure you won't want to put it down because you have no idea what's going to happen next.
Follow the cast of characters as they are murdered, abducted and more!
Not for stuffy readers who take their books too seriously. This is a fun, entertaining read that will take you from the edge of your seat to the outer limits.
