This book is written in script form, adapted from an episode of an upcoming TV series. It's a really great, fun read - nice plot twists. I enjoyed seeing the production stills from the set. I recommend this one for anyone who likes mystery reads or crime TV shows.

This is a really cool, quick read - it's written in script form and is the first episode of a TV show premiering in July. The plot kept me guessing and the lead characters are all really likable. It's also set it my native state of Florida, which made it even cooler for me.
I can't wait to watch the TV series when it starts to see if Jim and Callie end up getting together. I hope more eBooks will be released and this will become an eBook series! Thanks for the awesome free read.
I recommend this eBook for anyone who is a fan of crime novels and quick dramas. Great addition to the library.

I happend to stumble upon this unique giveaway while at Barnes and Nobles earlier this week and I am so happy that I did. Once I started reading this script I was not able to put it down. It is definitely a great read for mystery and drama lovers. I can't wait to join Longworth on his cases all summer long. The Glades is going to be a killer TV series!

I felt like I was reading more of a screen play instead of a book. Really glad I did not have to pay for this one. I wanted to ready the story before it came on TV so I knew what was going to happen. Guess if I want to know have the wytch the show now

...but it looks like this show is going to be very similar to CSI: Miami. I'm fortunate not to have cable, so there is a very low risk of me having to see this on TV. These characters are tired, but I did like the twist at the end. I'd love to find more books, shows, and movies in which the reader/viewer gets to assemble clues to identify the culprit. It seems like we either know whodunit all along, or the question is answered at the end with little explanation. I prefer to be more of an active participant (as active as I can be while lounging on my couch!), but that didn't happen in this story.

There is also a totally gratiuitous scene where the detective questions a teenage girl. There are a bunch of outstanding free short stories on BN's nook page. This isn't one of them.

I picked up a copy in B&N today. What a clever way to promote a show. I think the fact that it is written in screenplay form makes it much more interesting than if it was a novel adapted from the screenplay. Well written. Some good twists and turns. I am looking forward to the show.

It's so exciting to read a tv script - even before the show airs -- I never heard of that before. And, i never read a script before. I felt very inside hollywood with this one. Definitely going to watch the show to see how they made the show. plus the guy looks hot from the photos.

In short, this is a fun, quick read. I enjoyed it. I recommend it to everyone, but especially anyone who seeks an entertaining "who dunnit" that isn't a cookie cutter copy of everything else on TV.
I picked this one up on a whim because I had not read anything in script form before and it was free. I don't typically bother with telivision murder mysteries or crime dramas because too many of them feel like they were spooned out of the same mush pot after a while: predictably formulaic with garden variety character archetypes, canned jokes, and insincere sentimentality where such appears at all. So, I was pleasantly surprised that The Glades (or at least its pilot) offered something different. The detective doesn't take his job too seriously and is funny. The crime scene was not littered with the usual suspects. The murderer was hiding in a very unexpected place. Overall, it was just quirky enough to hold my interest, but not wacky. It was a fun, quick read that held my attention from start to finish in a single sitting. It misses getting a five star rating because I left the story with the same feeling I have after spending an hour of my time watching entertaining television (and given that it was intended to be an episode of a television series, I suppose that's to be expected). I reserve five star ratings for works that leave me feeling like I invested my time in literature (given that I generally prefer literature to television, I suppose that' s to be expected, too.)

Having had seen the show on TV, I could not pass up this free offering. Written like a script, it is basically one episode. Finished it in one night, and enjoyed it very much!

Enjoyed reading the script as I have seen every episode and recalled the story. It was like watching it all over again.

Now that you've been warned, as the description fails in that regard, i rather enjoyed it. I was put off at first b/c i dislike being mislead but once i started reading and got used to the structure i was hooked. Likeable charcters with lots of depth, great mystery with a rather decent twist. Made me wanna watch the series.

I've been watching the TV series, so I'm already familiar with all the characters - not to mention THIS story; it was the series Pilot! I AM a fan of the story-line, characters & writing... I'm just not a fan of books written like TV show scripts. Just my preference. Otherwise, I recommend this to others. :-)

The endding was a suprise. The piolt ott to be fairly good. Better than my wrighting for shure. It was a fast easy read.I have never read a play wright,if that is what it is called.I guess the plott is ok if it has one besides the changing of a job location and the ups and downs of it, with a bit of a twist. For my first e-book it was a real seller, I might get hooked. Thanks B&N gnu.
