I originally purchased Jonas Saul's short story, "Trapped," and noticed the first chapter of "The Threat" was included. For some reason, I read it first and immediately became caught up in the story. So, I purchased the book and read it - in one day - only one other time, about ten years ago, have I read a book so quickly.
The story is face-paced and the plot was intricate, yet not overly elaborate. The characters were rich and believable. Nearly every chapter is a cliffhanger - including the last chapter (page). Jonas's writing is tight and concise with no fluff in descriptions or character dialogue.
I was so captivated by the story I literally could not stop reading.
If you're a thriller fan then I highly recommend this book.
