Review by Terri: "A vampire, a witch, and a werewolf . . ." Sounds like a great opening for a joke. Actually, it's the basis of a rollicking good (and quite naughty) paranormal tale by Louisa Bacio.
Lily has a problem. As her birthday approaches, magical powers are manifesting that are beyond her control. Add to that, a deep physical and sexual hunger is building in her body and soul. The type of hunger no mortal man can unleash, control, or satisfy.
Plagued by dreams, she flees her comfortable normal life and drives to New Orleans where she meets her unlikely heroes Trevor and Law. Adding a woman to their comfortable and passionate relationship causes heat and friction. Don't worry, it's the good kind. Trevor, in particular, is aroused and haunted by Lily's beauty and innate sexuality. Law, cooler by nature, is excited by the electricity between his partner and the beguiling witch. Throw in ghostly visitors, voodoo, and that pesky demon, and this book is a witch's brew of fun, adventure, and sensuality. Without giving away any spoilers, let's just say the unlikely triangle comes to a very satisfying . . . um . . . climax.
For me, the strength and delight of the book was the relationship and interplay between sexy untamed Trevor and handsome sensual Law. Working in their bookshop, they talk and fuss in a companionable, almost old-fashioned, way. However, conservative dress and impeccable manners can't hide their explosive passion and Louisa lets the readers peek through the windows at their hot and tasty fun.
Overall, well-written with a nice touch of the parts of New Orleans where tourists are only welcomed as midnight snacks. If you like paranormal and are looking for a walk on the wild side, give this one a try.
