In her introduction, she recounts her struggles to turn her blog (theyellowtable.com) into a book, detailing how she assembled a creative team, secured sponsors and food styling props, found a printer, and raised more than $50,000 through Kickstarter. The result of her efforts is a chic compilation of 110 recipes (e.g., baked cinnamon crunch oatmeal, shaved brussels sprout and endive salad, filet mignon with blue cheese, nutella-shortbread brownies) that will appeal to anyone who delights in hosting simple, classy gatherings. The volume includes wine pairing suggestions from a James Beard Award-winning sommelier, menu ideas, and plenty of gluten-free options.
