This is a nice collection of short stories relating to the supernatural. The most successful of these was Linda Thomas’ “Trapped in Stone.” This not only has well-rounded characters and an intriguing premise but a compelling take on what it means to be good or evil. It is a short, powerful read and was a rather nice surprise. “Raising Darkness” is a fun read as well, although for different reasons. Despite the shortness and more predictable story line, it has enough basic information and instant action to push itself along to a hopeful ending. It also helped that I have read other books in this series. “Into the Fire” was my least favorite as there was a lot of steam but not a lot of romance or character development or plot, and while this is understandable in such a short format, I would have liked further fleshing out of the characters and plot or a focus on one single romantic interest.
