You're invited to a wedding in Whiskey Creek, Heart of the Gold Country
Unfortunately, it's the wrong wedding. Olivia Arnold is arranging the festivities—and it's the hardest thing she's ever done. Because she should be marrying Kyle Houseman. They were together for more than a year . But her jealous sister, Noelle, stole him away—and now she's pregnant.
All their friends in Whiskey Creek know as well as Olivia does that Kyle's making a mistake. His stepbrother, Brandon, knows it, too. But Kyle's determined to go through with it, for his child's sake.
Olivia's devastated, but surprisingly Brandon—the black sheep of the family--is there to provide comfort and consolation. The intensity between them, both physical and emotional, shows Olivia that maybe Kyle wasn't the right man for her .
But is Brandon?

Who doesn’t love a little sibling rivalry? Thanks to the publisher, Harlequin, and NetGalley for the chance to read When We Touch early! I loved Brenda Novak’s Stillwater Trilogy and Last Chance series – so when I discovered she was releasing a new series I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to give it a read. There are four main characters, each very well-developed considering this is a novella. You have sisters Olivia and Noelle Arnold; step-brothers Brandon Lucero and Kyle Houseman. Wedding planner, Olivia, always intended to plan the Arnold and Houseman wedding – she just assumed she would be the bride – not her older sister Noelle. However, while Olivia was in Sacramento building her building her business – Kyle was busy knocking up her sister. Neolle has always coveted what her sister had – (1) Brandon took Olivia to his Junior Prom; Neolle stalked him. (2) Kyle and Olivia dated; Neolle is marrying him. She is a little nutso. Kyle and Brandon haven’t ever really gotten along since Brandon’s mom, Paige, married Kyle’s dad, Bob. They have always been competitive; seems to be a pattern in Whiskey Creek – Sibling Rivalry. Kyle knows that he screwed up his chance with Olivia but, he doesn’t want to see her hurt again…especially by Brandon. Even though Kyle’s poor choices landed him in this predicament – I pity him. The author does an AWESOME job of generating real emotion within her characters – even the would be villain…Kyle. I absolutely fell in love with Brandon’s character. Sample thoughts of Brandon’s about Olivia; “Just one kiss, one taste, one touch…” OoooooOh Sexy!!!!!!

This was a sweet romance novella. I enjoyed it a lot actually. There was just a spot of steamy with a heavy helping of romance.
I loved the concept of the plot. There was enough going on that there wasn't a lag in any part of the story. The material to work with in this story could have had the potential for a full novel.
Olivia is a jilted ex girlfriend and a sister betrayed. Noelle is the sister who stole her sister's boyfriend and got pregnant mere months after Olivia left for a short reprieve in the city.
Kyle is the guilty party in all of this. He not only wrecked his relationship with the girl he intended to marry, but now he is stuck with her high maintenance sister. He is set on this wedding and doing the right thing even if it is a big mistake. Then there's Brandon. He is the step brother to Kyle that has unfinished business with Olivia. He is a sexy guy with a reputation for not wanting to be tied down.
The guys are hot, the girls are sweet and Whiskey Creek is a great place to be. I highly recommend this novella to anyone that is a fan of the romance genre. I give this read four glittery stars!

I really enjoyed this book but Im here to say that Olivia is crazy because there is no way that I would plan a wedding for that selfish sister and her soon to be ex-boyfriend.Im sorry but that family of hers didn't have enough compassion for her.I thank God that in the end that everything worked out for her.

I really liked the way the author handled each character. There was a
soundness to each that was surprising given the short read. I was
dreading that it would involve over-the-top sex, but it did not. I
cannot believe that this was a free read. Good job!

I really got into this book and then wham....it was over.....but there was not a real ending. It was just over. I am hoping the next book of the Whiskey Creek series will resolve this storyline in a satisfactory manner, if not, I will not be purchasing any more books by this author. I do not like to be left hanging. Other then the ending or lack there of, this was a really good read.

I liked this book overall but the fact that she was doing her sister's wedding to her ex-fiance is just to far out there...I don't know anyone who wouldn't just tell their parents to go to hell just for asking her to do that. Her sister was a spoil B***h who could use a NO.

This 101 page short gives us a view of Olivia's heartbreak over Keith and the awakening of her feelings for Brandon, Keith's step brother. What an emotional rollercoaster! Couldn't put the book down.

Brenda Novak has always been my most preferred romance author. This book is a one way ticket to entertainment. All the twists and tension throughout the story made me giddy and excited to get to the end. I absolutely loved it! However, I would've also liked to read more about the family, Olivia, and Brandon solving their family problems.
I recommend this book to those who want to read a short, quick and entertaining story.

I enjoyed this book, my only complaint is that it was way too short. There wasn't really enough character development for my taste.

I really liked this book but it wasn't believable! There's no way your sister sleeps with your long time boyfriend and u come back to arrange the wedding for her and him! She doesnt confront her sister or her parents for even asking her to do that crap! Also she was so heartbroken but she quickly fell in love with brandon! I would have given it more of a rating but thats the reason i didnt! I would have gave it 4 stars if she just would have went off on someone! It's still worth the read!
