Overview

Newly divorced, Avery Hart returns home to Wildwood eager to take on her dream opportunity and transform her family’s dive bar into her own bakery. The contractor for hire isn’t just a master with his hands—he’s big, built, and wears a tool belt like nobody’s business. Despite being an ex-con, Trace Hutton is irresistible. Too bad he’d never go for someone as inexperienced as Avery.

Trace needs to focus on the job at hand, not daydream about smearing icing all over the sexy baker…and licking it off. This job is the key to getting his construction company back on its feet after his time in prison. Besides, no one deserves a fresh start more than Avery, and she certainly won’t get that with him.

After a delectable night of passion (and pie), Trace craves something more. But he’ll be damned if he’ll let his checkered past crush her dreams. And as Avery starts to realize how Trace fulfills more than just her physical needs, she struggles with whether to let her history decide her future, or explore the wild new possibilities of forever…

This was a new author to me. I didn't realize that this book was also part of a series-although after reading it, you don't have to read the previous book to understand what is going on. I loved this book! The characters were great and very lovable. I got into the book from the very beginning and didn't have any trouble staying involved in the story. I felt so bad for them with everything that had happened in their lives to shape who they are now. But to see them come through all the hard times and be so successful? LOVED IT!! After reading this book I have purchased the book before it and am anxiously awaiting the next! Great job by this author! Definitely will be reading more of her books! I was provided an ARC from Netgalley for an honest review.

Perfect mix of sweet and spicy! This is a book you can lose yourself in because you wont want to stop reading. I loved that Trace and Avery overcame real life struggles to be together. I also loved the food descriptions. Some of that stuff needs to be made in real life.

I am in love with Trace. If Avery ever gives him up, I want a crack at him. He's such a stand-up man. He's the contractor hired to get Avery's new business (with a complete remodel) up and running for her grand opening. Avery is back in town after a divorce to a man that has her fleeing their small town when she was 17 to get married. While both had a troublesome time in their young adulthood, both are here making a name for themselves and re-establishing themselves as positive role models in the community...a community that has a penchant for holding stereotypes and past sins against others. I love the strength exhibited in both Trace and Avery. I love that the angst that was presented was handled in an adult manner. I loved the story line and the conclusion of their story. There was very little that I didn't find gratifying. There were a couple incidents that I would have liked to have seen go a different way, but in the end, they played out perfectly for these two characters. If you're on the fence, take a chance. It's doubtful that you'll be disappointed. Skye is a master with character development and unfolding a story. You'll not only fall in love with the main characters but all the secondary characters as well. You'll get lost in this little town and fall in love along the way. I received a copy of this book from the author and am choosing to leave a voluntary and completely honest review.

Wild Kisses is a sweet and sexy contemporary romance. Although it is book 2 in the Wildwood series, it can be read as a standalone. The main characters, Trace & Avery, are perfectly imperfect and both have had to overcome hardships and the ghosts of their pasts. Their attraction and interest in the other is clear from the start, but both try to keep those feelings hidden for fear that the timing and circumstances are not right since Avery is technically Trace's boss. On top of that, Trace does not believe he is good enough for Avery, because he is an ex-con and Avery, is worried that she is too Plain Jane for Trace due to her sexual inexperience. This "will they or won't they" tension of course led to some very steamy scenes. (Ahem, counter tops and banisters for the win! ;) I'm a sucker for a bad boy with a heart of gold, and Trace did not disappoint. Unfortunately, the push and pull between their true feelings and what they thought was the best way to protect the other was a little too drawn out. Also, it seemed like any time there was a conflict, instead of talking everything out, some truths were divulged and then sexy times ensued. Not that I didn't enjoy reading the sexy times, but a lot of the drama could have been resolved if Trace and Avery just sat down and actually talked. Overall, Wild Kisses was a sweet and angsty romance that left me smiling like a fool. I look forward to returning to Wildwood and these characters when the next book is released! *I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*

This is my first read in the Wildwood series (a fact I will be rectifying) but not my first from this author and I got what I expected and then some - great writing, an interesting story line, and developed characters that keep me turning pages. I loved the dialogue between Trace and Avery and the ups and downs of their romance kept me reading to that awesome ending. Skye never disappoints!

Ever since Trace was introduced in Forbidden Fling, I have been eagerly awaiting his story. He is the perfect bad boy hero and I loved everything about him. He tried to avoid getting romantically involved with Avery, the town's sweetheart, because of his criminal past. However, the intense chemistry between them is so hard to resist. Especially when Avery keeps tempting him. I love that Avery goes after what she wants... and she wants Trace. :) I loved every minute of their journey! Wild Kisses by Skye Jordan....Another sweet 5 stars!!! Skye Jordan has written a sweet story full of romance, love, forgiveness and some suspense that keeps us flipping pages. Avery had a terrible marriage and returns to Wildwood after her divorse. Trace is an ex-con and a talented carpenter that is doing work for Avery. These two have fantastic chemistry and are perfect together. Can they get through their differences and make it work. This is a must read, so make sure you grab a copy. Skye Jordan bakes up another hit! Skye has woven another heart warming story set in her small town about sisters who are rebuilding the town's former trouble spot, their Dad's bar. I manage to fall in love with each of her tales and the people that live there. This one is about Avery, the middle sister, has come home after giving up on her 8 year marriage to the young man who broke her away from her abusive alcoholic father and the trouble at his bad news bar. Her husband joined the military and soon started cheating on her. She grows up in those 8 years, realizes her marriage is over and goes back home to start over. Her sister is renovating their inheritance, the bar, much to the town's frustration. She sinks all her savings into starting a bakery/cafe in the building and bring a long held dream come true. Trace is an apparent bad boy/ex-con drug dealer trying to start over and build a business while caring for his Dad who has dementia and is a former prescription drug user. There ensues instant chemistry between these two and Trace knows he's trouble for Avery and her business as an ex-con. The tug between should they-shouldn't they and all the obstacles keeping them from meeting the cafe's opening deadline keep you turning pages and reading past your bed time. I love Skye's author's voice and her heart that comes through in each and every story she crafts. I feel uplifted and positive that life's challenges can be overcome with blessings every time. Thank you Skye for gifting me with this free ARC opportunity.

Oh Avery and Trace. These two are beautiful together. As Trace works to restore Avery’s family bar into her bakery/café, he finds himself constantly drawn to the light that is Avery but he doesn’t seem himself worthy of her. Yet, he loves their banter and interactions and gets bolder with his flirting. Avery thought she had found the right life until her marriage fell apart. She is hesitant to start any new relationships, working night and day to build her bakery brand but Trace keeps drawing her in. Add in their individual family drama and you find two people driven to prove they can succeed. But will they let themselves find love at the same time?

This is a story of two lost souls trying to find their way in the world again after a difficult period in their lives. For Trace, he needs to rebuild his professional and personal reputation, for Avery she needs to find her place in the world after a tough marriage and then divorce. These two are really nice characters, honest, hardworking, kind and considerate. Perfect for each other really if they'd just both open up their hearts. Trace has a lot of responsibilities, his free-time is limited due to looking after his dementia suffering father. The scenes with Trace and his family members added an interesting dynamic to the story, lots of love there. Avery is struggling with loss, her past is full of broken promises and she needs to let go of some of it otherwise she'll never take a chance with Trace. These two are fantastic together, their feelings honest and raw, incredibly passionate. Avery needed to experience passion and lust in its most basic form and Trace gives her that in spades. It's a really good continuation of the first book. I'm looking forward to the next one.

I was looking forward to reading about Avery Hart and her return to Wildwood, after her sister Delaney’s return in book one of this series. Boy, did the author deliver. Avery’s story includes Trace Hutton and we aren’t talking just wild kisses… Their story is not only hawt but it has heart as well. Get ready to be entertained with laughs, with tears, and (for me) with major attitude towards how these two are treated by everyone around them. Ms. Jordan wrote a great story and I could never recap any of it to convey how touching and deep the relationship is but you will get involved with Trace’s and Avery’s lives so quickly that you will cheer for them, you will cry for them, and you will shout for them…and sometimes AT them. For me, there was a bit too much angst between Trace and Avery; personally, I’m more of a face-it kinda gal but that is my taste. It didn’t stop me from reading the book straight through to the end. By the time you finish, you will want to have hugged these two, to try to help make things better for them, sometimes slap them both upside the head, and help them get to their HEA. Really good story.

Ex-con contractor Trace Hutton and newly divorced baker Avery Hart have explosive chemistry but a relationship between these two can't lead any where good. Avery is trying to start over in Wildwood and Trace's past will only hold her back. They both have dreams for the future. That future just can't be together.....or can it?? This one is very well written and these characters will win your heart. Definitely a book I recommend.

Wild Kisses by Skye Jordan is book number two in the Wildwood series. This is Avery Hart and Trace Hutton's story. Avery has gone through a divorce and is in the process of starting her own bakery. Trace is an ex-con. He is struggling to get his contracting business back going and to rebuild his reputation. Avery hires Trace to transform her family's dive bar into a bakery. The chemistry between Avery and Trace is off the charts. But, neither are ready for a relationship with trying to build a business and recover personally. Things don't always go according to our plans. Will they take a chance on love or will it just be a fling. I loved the banter between Avery and Trace. This is a sexy, steamy, and heartfelt romance. FYI, includes mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. --

4.5 Stars! I love when a series gets better with each book. I was drawn in to this town full of people in the first book with Delaney and Ethan. At the end, we got to see a little bit of the spark between Trace and Avery when they met, so I've been looking forward to this book and it didn't disappoint. Trace. Talk about the ideal bad boy. He's an ex-con but ultimately still a good man. It didn't hurt that the author described him just how I like em. Tall, muscular, black hair, blue eyes...Yeah, enough said. Avery's considered a good girl but she had a difficult childhood. She knows what it means to be judged unfairly. The chemistry between these two was felt right at the beginning. My only complaint would be these two were a bit to insecure but really with their pasts, it is understandable? The author did a good job of making me curious about the last sister. Not a lot gets revealed about Chloe and I can't wait to learn her story. ARC provided by NetGalley.

The Wildwood series, keeps getting better. I love the message that Ms. Jordan places at the forefront of every story: Everyone deserves a second chance, so grab hold and make it count. Forbidden Fling laid the groundwork with Delaney and Ethan's journey to forgiveness and ultimately romance. Wild Kisses continues this powerful saga as Delaney's sister Avery finds her voice, opens her heart and seeks her own happily every after. Trace is the object of her secret fantasies. A self-made man with a boatload of mistakes hanging like a noose around his neck. Will he ever learn to see himself as more than the bad choices he's made? Two people with broken hearts and shattered dreams, just may find redemption in each other. Author, series and characters are showstopping.

I LOVED IT!!! This is yet another example of why I love Skye's writing. I'm a relatively new reader of hers, but I will absolutely read ANYTHING she writes. I liked Avery because, unlike so many other heroines in romance novels, she didn't subscribe to the "I'll keep my thoughts to myself and not talk about them in an effort to save my relationship" philosophy. She got mad and hurt, and she told Trace. Just like what real people do. All of Skye's heroines are like that, and I love it. Trace was beyond intense. I loved absolutely everything about him, and enjoyed reading how he changed over the time he knew Avery. The almost-final-scene was so touching, and Trace could not have been more perfect. Needless to say, the love was scorching between these two. I can't wait to catch up with them in future books to see how they're doing! If you love a steamy, solid, engaging contemporary romance, this is the book for you! (I received a copy of this book in consideration of an honest review)
