Overview

Black Ops, Inc. operative Luke – Doc Holliday – Colter is taking some much needed down-time, making his way across the Peruvian Andes via rail, when banditos attack the moving train in the midnight hours. It soon becomes apparent that robbery is not their intent but the abduction of super model Valentina, who is traveling incognito while recovering from a public scandal involving her ex-husband, high profile US Senator, Marcus Chamberlin. Luke whisks Valentina off the train in a daring escape but the two of them become the targets of a relentless manhunt. Enlisting the aid of Luke's BOI teammates, they soon discover that Val’s intended abduction is linked to a plot put in play by an international gun smuggling alliance. The BOI team led by Luke, with Val along as a necessary pawn, must race halfway around the world to thwart a ruthless attack that would not only result in a devastating loss of life but destroy a tenuous peace the US and her allies have established in a vastly unstable part of the world.

If you buy this book I would recomend that you buy the series by order so you can understand how the characters interacts to one another. Here is the list by reading order. 1-Show no Mercy, 2-Take no Prisoners, 3- Whisper no Lies, 4-Feel the Heat, 5-Risk no secrets, 6- with No remorse and 7- Last Man standing( 1/31/2012). I Hope that you will enjoy this series, with fascinating women and some hot and adorable men... Have a nice reading!

I was fortunate to get an Advance Reading Copy of With No Remorse. Thankfully, I was warned that they are riddled with minor errors that get corrected before final publication. I loved Luke's story. After his ordeal in San Salvador, I was glad it was his turn to find happiness. This healer, with the heart of a warrior, was head over heels long before he met Val. Imagine falling for a roadside billboard as a teen. Imagine saving her with the help of a mule and an inappropriately placed potato. Their story is full of unexpected twists and turns. It was the first book in a while that had me guessing where the next strike of the enemy was coming from.

Indiana Jones and Doc Holliday all rolled into one sexy hero. Couldn't ask for more... I have looked forward to Doc's story since the first BOI book and he was so worth waiting for. Gerard has created heroes that you can't help but fall for with their warrior ways and vulnerabilities and strong women who make them whole. This is a series that you do not want to miss; I keep these on my bookshelf to re-read over and over again.

Love, LOVE this series by cindy gerard. I enjoyed all of her BOI heroes and heroines. Be sure to read them in order. Can't wait for the next one (out 1/31). Only wish she could write faster!

I have been waiting for Doc's story for a very long time, and I wasn't disappointed. The only complaint I have is that the first 50 or so pages were a little slow for me to get through, especially considering how fast paced the BOI books have been in the past. Once the dialogue picked up and the background was in place, the book was extremely enjoyable. This book has it all, action, adventure, hot steamy sex, an ex-homosexual husband, and of course, the entire BOI team. I have bittersweet feeling about the next book, as it will be the last but I am so thankful that Steph and Joe get their own book.

~Reviewed by ANN & posted at Under the Covers Book Blog If you’re ever looking for some Romantic Suspense titles to read, you absolutely NEED to read Cindy Gerard’s Black Ops Inc series (BOI). Not only is there a stunning amount of action and suspense in each of these novels, but I feel like Gerard really knows her stuff about the dangerous locations and the conflicts that the characters encounter in each of the books. While so much research must have gone into the stories, it never once feels bogged down with information, politics or conflict. In fact, I think it’s one of the few romance series where the romance balances out the action. You never feel like the sex or the chemistry is contrived when the hero and heroine are running for their lives. I’ve read the entire series already but somehow skipped out on Doc’s story for some reason. When I realized that, I made a quick turn around, knowing that I had to read this right away. Luke Colter is known as Doc, but he’s actually not a doctor. He’s a medic. After a “vacation” that has him right in the center of a shoot out, Luke must act if he wants to stay alive. He realizes that the bad men willing to kill innocents are after this boy, so he makes sure to save him before it takes the others out. But upon further examination, he realizes that in the midst of the gunfire, the chaos and the fact that he’s trying to save himself from getting killed, he misses that the boy is actually a woman. And it’s not just any woman either. It’s internationally known supermodel named Valentina. I know what you’re thinking? Whhhaaat? But it works so fantastically well because Valentina does not come across as uptight or weak and feeble. In fact, she puts Luke in his place a few times in this story. What I like most about this series is that the heroine are all very strong beings. They may not be in the best position at the start of the book. In this case, Val is hiding from the paparazzi after a particularly rough break up with her politician ex-husband, when it all goes down, but their self worth and their views on themselves are never put down. Though their scared and have moments of hopelessness throughout the book, they never once give up. And I love that about Val and about each of the girls in this series. Gerard excels at giving each of her heroes a distinct personality and purpose. I think that’s what makes readers connect with Luke so well. I loved reading about Luke’s past and a few stories of him as a cowboy. The spotlight that Gerard puts on Luke really gives him the chance to shine. I’ve always seen him as just the medic of the group, but no, Luke can get down and dirty as the rest of them. I also freaking love how they are able to handle every situation thrown at them. Imagine how thrilling it would be to watch that in real life! *swoon*
