I am a frequent reader. I am a huge fan of James Patterson. I have read literally all of his books.
This is easily his worst book, it may be one of the worst books I have had the misfortune to read.
The premise of the book is unrealistic, and the entire book follows that unbelievable premise.
Honestly, the book is just awful. Too bad that you can't rate using a zero. If one is poor, then zero would be awful.
A "Poor" rating for this book is just too high.
This is my fist book review. I felt compelled to write this to let others know how bad this book really is.
Save your time and read something else.

I rarely find a Patterson book that I don't like, and Zoo I definitely like. It's interesting from the very beginning and never slows down, however, you may not trust the family dog or cat quite the same after reading this book.

This is one of the best books I've read by James Patterson! Couldn't put it down. It was very well written, thrilling, scary and a very fast read. A book worthy of the late Michael Chrichton. I highly recommend this book.

Started out with an interesting plot idea, but the 'hero' is totally unlikeable and the premise ridiculous. As one other reviewer said, why did some of the first attacks occur in Africa when the causitive agents are cell phone waves and fossil fuel emssions? Why are rhinos affected and not horses, deer or pigs? Dolphins affected in the ocean? Chemicals that cause an instant change in demeanor of so many different species? Then of course the pat answer- the evils of fossil fuels. Please.
Add in poor characterization, like the rescued female biologist who becomes jealous when she hears about his past girlfriend. Because highly educated women are that shallow and dependent on their relationships.
Major waste of money.

I don't know what James Patterson is doing. First he abruptly ends "I, Michael Bennett" and now a ridiculous book about animals gone nuts! Maybe he is spreading himself too thin with a new book planned for every month!

I really wonder if JP really wrote any part of it. Whoever wrote it has an environmental propaganda that needs to be left for people who enjoys that and not for people who like fiction.
Horrible! Horrible! Horrible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Very disapointed. The author missed a great chance for a good book. The book starts out good but turns bad after a few chapters

I usually can depend on James Patterson delivering a quick suspense book. Zoo is a gory book about animals attacking humans all over the world. The details of killing are too much for me.

I HAVE READ EVERYTHING PATTERSON HAS WRITTEN AND THIS BOOK DIDN'T DO ANYTHING FOR ME.
A LITTLE OFF HIS USUAL GAME. HE NEEDS TO GET BACK TO HIS DETECTIVE ROOTS AND LEAVE THE
ANIMALS ALONE.

My mother who is 63 and I are what you would call huge fans of Patterson's books, we have a collection of all of his novels, I'll be the first to admit some of them are "hit and miss", we both were excited to read "Zoo" however we did not at all enjoyed reading it, I would not call it his "best". Readers such as myself are better to check out a copy from a library. Readers should stick with his Alex Cross and Women's Murder Club series.

Really bad book. Stupid premise. So, who is using cell phones out in the bush of Africa? Certainly not enough people to create the desired effect upon which the book is based. Poorly thought out Patterson. But then it is my guess that you write for the simpletons out there ...if this is the best book you have ever read or the best Patterson has ever written, then I think the world will certainly be meeting its end sooner rather than later,

I was really looking forward to this book coming out even though I quit reading his books years ago. The book wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The premise was good, and his reason for the animals going nuts was interesting, but somehow it just wasn't a satisfying read. I enjoy apocalyptic fiction, but there are much better examples out there. Get this one ffrom the library if you want to read it.

Unlike Patterson's regular plots, this one is out of the norm and he hits the plot out of the park! Interesting thriller that could have some truth to it. You'll quickly read the book because you can't put it down. Then you'll spend a lot of time thinking "what if".
