About the Author

Haby Barry is the founder of Fulaba, a boutique jewelry brand that provides timeless jewelry from African high culture. Although Haby started with Fulani jewelry because of her heritage, her goal was always to go beyond and feature jewelry from the royalty and nobility of other African ethnic groups and political empires, hence the Wolof and Tukulor collections with more to come. Fulaba has been featured in several publications, including Allure and Essence magazines, and worn by influencers and celebrities, including Alicia Keys and Regina King.

Haby’s professional background includes strategic and digital marketing and content creation. She holds a Bachelor’s of Music degree from NYU where she graduated cum laude studying Music Business. Haby now resides in Los Angeles, CA.

Diaraye Barry is passionate about cultural endeavors and participates in various projects focused on showcasing Africa and its diaspora, women empowerment and the development of artists. She joined the African Cultural Center in Paris, founded by her late, beloved friend and mentor, Hilaire Penda at its inception. Diaraye is in charge of coordinating the center's conferences, workshops and concerts.

Alongside her work in the arts, Diaraye Barry has extensive experience in logistics, business administration, human resources and project management. Diaraye currently resides in Paris and works on expanding the African Cultural Center throughout Europe while pursuing her career in procurement.
