Juanita Finger was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and grew up in Chicago, Illinois. Her artistic side was first evidenced in music. She was an accomplished pianist throughout her youth, and always had a keen interest in things artistic.

Her current fascination with beading began quite accidentally in 1991 after breaking a pair of beaded earrings. Her humble initial efforts at jewelry repair have evolved.
After attending a bead show that featured almost no jewelry, she recognized a void and became interested in creating Indian style jewelry, beaded sculptures, and tapestries.

She has entered both national and international competitions, winning numerous awards. Her art has been featured in Bead and Button Magazine and in a coffee table book entitled "The Sea, Selections From the 1st International Myuki Challenge" and others.
