Avi is an American author best-known for his books for children and young adults. Born in New York, Avi is a master storyteller whose work spans nearly every genre including comedies, mysteries, historical fiction, graphic novels, adventure stories and much more. He has written over 70 books and received numerous prizes including the Newbery Medal for Crispin: The Cross of Lead and Newbery Honors for Nothing But the Truth and The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle. Avi's other popular works include the Poppy Stories series, Sophia's War and The Secret School. Avi lives in Colorado.
