K-Gr 2-Lily is in love with school and her teacher until the day she cannot resist showing off her new plastic purple purse right in the middle of class. After asking her three times to wait, the teacher has her put her purse on his desk till the end of the day. Lily gets so mad she writes him a hateful letter and leaves it in his bag. On the way home, she discovers he has left her a nice note in her purse, which he dutifully returned. Now Lily feels awful. She writes him a new note, her mom bakes him cheese croquetitas ("small croquettes"), and she arrives early the next morning to apologize. The story ends with the class dancing to the music of Lily's purse and Lily once again in love with her teacher. An excellent tool for teaching responsible decision-making and behavior.
