Mark Z. Danielewski has never been a writer to follow conventions, and his decidedly unconventional novel Only Revolutions — a story of young lovers told in parallel free verse — proves the point. It garnered a 2006 National Book Award nomination. Danielewski’s other books include House of Leaves and the multi-volume serial novel project The Familiar. He has also written novellas, short stories, and essays.
