About the Author

AUTHOR HOMETOWN: Park City, UT
AUTHOR BIO:
A lifelong outdoors enthusiast, Dayna Stern is a relative newcomer to Utah. After exploring every nook and cranny of Washington State, she pulled the moss out of her ears and began the search for a drier climate. After nearly two years and endless miles in Utah, Dayna and her dog Harry have found their home in Park City and are excited to share Best Hikes with Dogs: Utah.
Dayna's professional career includes marketing endeavors for environmental protection and outdoor-oriented organizations. She has served on the board of several environmental groups, helped launch a county wide recycling program, developed environmental protection strategic plans for Pacific Northwest clients and, has taught English as a second language. She earned a BA in Chinese Studies and an MPA (Environmental Marketing) from the University of Washington. In addition to hiking, Dayna enjoys kayaking, alpine and Nordic skiing, snowshoeing, biking, tennis, and eating.
Harry graduated from puppy obedience school in 2006. When he's not on the trail, he spends his time sleeping, throwing himself on his back hoping for a belly rub and helping out in the kitchen. This is his first publication.
