About the Author

Charles Gailey is professor emeritus of missiology at Nazarene Theological Seminary. A former missionary to Swaziland, he has served as vice president of the Evangelical Missiological Society, president of the Midwest Professors of Mission, and a member of the board of directors of the American Society of Missiology. He and his wife Doris have four children: Carol Holt, Ellen Decker, Sharon Lee, and Robert Gailey, all of whom are involved in ministry. Howard Culbertson teaches missions at Southern Nazarene University and helps head the university's short-term mission trip opportunities program. While at SNU, he has been heavily involved in church-planting programs in Bulgaria, Croatia, and Slovenia as well as helping with the ministry to Haitian immigrants in Venezuela. A veteran missionary, he spent 15 years overseas (10 years in Italy and 5 years in Haiti). He holds an earned doctorate in missions from Denver Seminary.
